Was on the verge of finally investing in a ps5 as was starting to get impatient waiting for the pc ports. However, that showcase completely changed my mind, really surprised by how poor a showing that was.

Was not the best I agree just waiting for Xbox to do something now so I can actually use it ...
 
Seeing gameplay of Spider-Man 2 was nice, excited to pick that up when it releases. Outside of that, it wasn't really anything special at all.

Marathon looks like it could be good - but that's some way off from being released.

The only other two that appealed to me are the new Assassins Creed game (looks like it's going back to the original style/format rather than completely open world) and MGS3 remake.

I was really hoping we'd see something from Naughty Dog for a 'Factions' game, it feels like it's been teased for 3+ years now.

I just want Bloodborne remaster...why wont Sony give it to us.

I only got my PS5 for Demon Souls, and tbf have played Ratchet and Clank , Miles-Morales, GT7 which were also fun. so got a bit more out of it, but yeh there needs to be more first party games. They have more than Xbox which is seriously dire at present but still not enough really.

I commend Insomniac for actually showing Spiderman 2 gameplay even if it was clearly not optimised, if only other devs bothered with a gameplay slice rather than showing off a generic CGI trailer people might be a bit more hyped.

Are we also seeing the first steps of Sony maybe transitioning to a Switch like handheld? Their Wii U alike is how it all started for Nintendo.

I'd say that Sony has a good amount of first party games that have released on PS5, although possibly these are ones that don't interest you?

You've mentioned Demon Souls, Ratchet & Clank, Miles Morales and GT7.

Of the top of my head, there's also been:

Horizon Forbidden West (and the call of the mountain DLC)
God of War: Ragnarok
Returnal (now on PC)
FF7
Last of Us Part 1
Sackboy (also now on PC)
Astro's Playroom

Definitely agree that there can be more but I don't think it's actually been that awful.
 
I've started playing returnal, but I'm finding it both confusing and quite hard. I'm not pretty good at games, but I guess it's that learning curve and starting off with poor weapons. I'm sure the game is highly rated though.

It is great but yeah it isn’t for the faint hearted. Quite difficult but becomes easier once you understand what you need to do and what to avoid.
 
Fingers crossed for Factions. ND rarely say much so we will see.

Shreier is just just fishing there I’m not too worried about it. He has to say something but he doesn’t know anything same as the rest of us.

Really enjoying Horizon Forbidden West now I've properly got back into it. I still think the skill tree, armour upgrades, weapon coils etc. are all a bit OTT but I'm sort of ignoring that for now and just using the stuff I enjoy.

What I enjoyed most about Horizon Zero Dawn was discovering the story through the notes / recordings you find in game up to the point where you get that huge reveal of what actually happened. I've found myself listening to more of the voice recordings / transcripts in this game to get that feeling back and it's really helped.

It's also incredible how great the game looks and how well it runs. I finished Jedi: Survivor a few weeks ago and that game in performance mode looks a bit like a PS3 game at times, compared to Horizon that just looks unreal.

I'm wondering if we'll get the final game of the trilogy on PS5 (and they'll release the first game as a 'PS5' version) or whether they'll wait until a PS6... I've read that the DLC for Horizon Forbidden West looks incredible and plays great so maybe it'll be on this generation of consoles?

Game's a technical marvel all right and I think Horizon is still my favourite of the newer Sony IPs. I think I had the most fun with ZD and it turned out the least overrated of the bunch.
Can't say much about FW as I'm like 7h in.

Also getting back into my Elden Ring replay and while I think it's still the better game and the artstyle and locations are amazing, it runs like **** on PS5 and the assets are like early PS4 era. Can't believe how good it looks with such outdated tech but Horizon is simply in a different league when it comes to sheer visual fidelity while running much better.

Currently replaying FW so I can replay Burning Shores.

Despite my dislike for the ludicrous combat overhaul in the second game I too am hooked on the lore. Just like Mass Effect, the lore is simply brilliant. Forbidden West just extends upon this greatly. I am quite sure that by the time the third game comes out, most games on the PS5 will have matured very well since developers will have had a lot more time with it.

I am torn. I want it but know that if I jump right in the Zelda will get pushed out. Not sure if I am ready for that to happen though I am also playing AC Origins so not sure how that works :p

Ditch AC for now and get stuck into Diablo. Obviously keep Zelda as your side piece.

I can only seriously concentrate on two games at once, so Zelda and Diablo are gonna be my go to for the foreseeable !
