Been toying with the idea of getting a 2k monitor I have a 6650xt with a 2 monitor setup in 1080p will this card be OK for 1440p I very rarely play AAA games or should I think about upgrading my card 1st?

Most graphic intense game I play at the moment is probably new world

Yeah I think it will be fine for your use. For other options:

The 6700 XT and 6750 XT are probably technically better suited for 1440p and are quite a good deal at this point at around £300-ish in some cases but are only a bit faster than the 6650XT so you might be a bit disappointed by the difference.

Probably the lowest I'd look at upgrading to from that would be the 6800 or 4070 but they're £450 and £580 respectively. But I don't think you'd see the value from spending that much.

My recommendation is stick with what you've got. FSR will probably save you if you do end up with a tricky AAA title.

Definitely go for 1440p. It doesn't matter if the card isn't fast enough - that's what RSR is for.

I use an RX 6600 to drive a 1440p monitor. Older games run at native at 1440p and look much better. More modern titles can be dropped to 1080p and let RSR upscale to 1440p (unless they support FSR of course)

I used to be very happy at 1080p but last year I tried 1440p to see what the fuss is about. I couldn't see any difference. So I went back to my 1080p monitor and the image looked blurred. I then realised that's how it's always looked but I didn't notice until I tried 1440p. I immediately sold the 1080p display and I'm never going back.

I've been quite happily gaming on a 1080 Ti at 1440p, which is a little slower than a 6650 XT. With some smart settings tweaks you'll have no problems playing anything you want.

I get 60-70 fps in The last of Us at 1440p native with an RX7600 ( which is pretty much the same as 6650xt). You just need to reduce settings a bit (most high, some medium, some ultra).

That's why I'm avoiding 4K
