We can’t until the dodgy sponsorships keep growing :D

Big transfers are grand for us big wages isn’t
Exactly your wage levels will be the same as some of the other bottom half clubs. Going forward though you’ll need to increase wages to compete with team in the top half of the table.

Ah yes, state backed PSG are going to make Rashford their 3rd biggest earner behind Mbappe and Neymar and 100k more then the likes of Hakimi and Veratti. Not only that...why on earth would he go to PSG?

Lets be realistic, he isnt worth the money United are paying him. Ridiculous money but then its United and they do this, a lot.

Yeah, it's a shame, as until this point there seems to have been a bit of level headedness around finances. Not giving into DDG and walking away from transfers. So feels a step backwards.

It’s not extraordinary in reality. He has the leverage being the clubs top scorer and best player last season, we are already struggling for goals as it is, remove his goals and input and we didn’t get top 4 or maybe even the cup finals.

The club won’t want to lose his services and the cost in replacing him is £100+mil so he can likely ask for what he wants and will likely get it. Ultimately though his worth will be determined by his performances.

Yeah, I think this one will bite us in the arse in a few years or less. Contracts need to become far more performance based because players are increasingly powerful and have no qualms about downing tools when things aren't just right for them.

Thats why you don't want to get yourself into Uniteds position where any player who is performing at a truly elite level is irreplaceable. DDG was another one who we needed far too much. The City's of this world would tell him to **** off or accept a reasonable pay because they wouldn't struggle without him.

Yep we’ve been badly run for a decade that is no secret. But the situation is what it is, I’d rather him get the money than someone like Mbappe.

It always amuses me when people act shocked at what money players are on - elite football has been like this for ages and will only get worse.

My main issue with Rashford is he was rubbish for a long period, so hopefully that won't happen again...

I mean its absolutely insane money for a profession where your performance can vary massively and your employer has to pay you regardless. My main issue is that United just seem to pay silly wages from top to bottom. I could stomach it far more easily if they could justify their salaries.

Not particularly. He's 20 and has a single sub appearance. Not even played Championship level. He fell behind Mainoo this season
From a match day appearance perspective, sure. But watching him on pre-season last year, I thought he seemed to be made of better stuff than other academy guys. Shame, but I guess we don't see what goes on day to day, ETH mustn't have been keen obviously.

Yeah I thought he played well preseason but the fact he didn't get a single minute in the actual season suggests appearances can be deceiving. I think most of the 'hype' about him was largely because of his name and his heritage as a British South Asian.
