Hermes (now rebranded to EVRi)! Why are they so good?!

Amazon are building new facilities like crazy across the U.K. this is the model their going for sand day delivery. It’s amazing how many items you can get same day now and this is only going to continue. People will pay more for items quicker. People are generally impatient sods and want everything now.

We had a young couple next door with a 3 yr old and she was continuosly screeming I WANT IT NOWWWWW.

Thank god they were only here for 2 yrs. The whole street let out a long sigh.

I think people like myself, who couldn't care less if something takes 3-4 days to arrive, are becoming the minority! Heck, make that a week if I can track the thing and be confident it's not lost in the post.

Today, people seem to place a lot of value on being able to impulse buy something and have it the same day. I must admit I have no idea why.

I ordered some trainers from SportsDirect yesterday afternoon. Paid £4.99 for standard delivery (I know they use EVRi) in 3-5 days.

EVRi delivered 10 minutes ago. Can't fault that

The problem with SportsDirect is even if you pay the extra for next day delivery it's still not guaranteed to come next day. It's still sent out with all the other Evri stuff in the same way.

I read in one of the local rags this week that Amazon are building another new place in the North East and the rag were praising it for creating 3000 new jobs. They obviously don't realise that the jobs are all just temp zero hour agency jobs. :o

We've always done well with Evri but we must have someone new taking over the area which means that anything delievered has a times lot of 7-9pm and it's very rare that that is hit. The other day we had a delivery turn up at 10:15pm, just dumped on the doorstep and run. Meh.

Oh, I'd never pay for next day delivery from SD. I resent paying for delivery, especially when some competitors offer it for free.

information is a bit old as i've been away from Hermes a while now but hermes treat all their parcels as next day parcels in terms of delivery expectations with their drivers.

Ie the parcels are all marked up Nday 2 day 3 day but the couriers are expected to deliver or attempte to deliver at least every parcel on the day it arrives in the delivery unit.

Having a similar experience, like you I never had issues with them in the past but recently had to complain a couple of times, went properly downhill, must be new driver(s)

Every single parcel sent to us via Evri gets delivered the second time, but never the first. It's massively infuriating.

Self-quote here, but jesus christ. I sent a complaint about it yesterday and they've actually responded! They've determined that (insert surprised face here) it's the same courier every time that doesn't deliver to our house. It's being passed to their manager. That's a surprisingly useful result from Evri!

I always get the same driver with my Evri deliveries, she's lovely. I always leave 5 stars. No idea if they can see it though

Same here. Evri seem to give their drivers regions to cover, as opposed to Amazon who I assume plot routes based on various metrics and randomly assign them to different drivers

We obviously have one utter *******. I think I know who it is - there's this weird guy who is always scurrying to and from his van. No matter the weather, he wears a high-vis coat. And no matter the lack of world-ending pandemic, he's always wearing a face mask only covering his mouth.

Frankly, I'm calling him out because I think he's weird, but he nevers delivers to us.

Amazon (who frequently deliver here) offloaded a delivery for us to Evri, expected in to come today as it wasn't a priority item, but last night we got an update saying delivery was attempted yesterday lunchtime and they couldn't locate us with exactly the same info that all our deliveries have. Contacted their AI 24/7 online customer service, seemed straight forward enough, but no sign of parcel so far today.

If we knew item wasn't going to be delivered until at least tomorrow, we could have simply added it to our Tesco delivery.

Used to be good for me but lost 3 parcels so far in the last month! all were to goto local argos... 2 were falsely flagged as "delivered" when they clearly were not.

I've just had to send back an order where the seller used Evri. The box had been open at one corner so someone could look inside and then when found to contain only Lego apparently been used as a trampoline for hippos. I have never had a good delivery from them in 20 years living in 5 different regions. My Mom on the other hand seems to have a really nice regular driver who does a good job.

Personally I would rather I was given the option to pay more and use Royal Mail than ever use Evri.

I had that with an electric toothbrush I ordered, the parcel had been opened by someone in the Evri organisation, awful delivery company.
