Baldur's Gate 3

I dont think he is trolling, I suspect its just genuinely bad decision making/judgement. I remember in last years game of the year thread Rumple said that nothing they had played in the entire year was worth being their game of the year and - "Thanks for this thread it just made me realise why do I keep spending lots of money on my pc when all the games are crap and I rarely finish them"

So it seems like 7 months on from that thread they havent learned and are still spending money on PC gaming but still not enjoying it. If it was me, at that point, after a year and a half of not playing what I consider to be a good game, I'd move on to a different hobby that I do enjoy but thats just me. Hell some people stick thousands of pounds into fruit machines in the hope that the next coin spent will have a different outcome :)

broken quest?
So i free'd the goblin, Sazza, from the cage in the druid camp. She said she would put a good word in for me at the goblin camp. I get to the goblin camp, she is at the entrance but i cant speak to her. She just stands there. I can walk through the camp unmolestd, but thats only becuse i'm using Illithind powers to control the goblins who challenge me. And each time i think part of my brain is being eaten! So , is this quest broken. Its still in my quest list saying "Get to the goblin camp" with the location of Sazza marked. But she wont response to me.

Enjoying it a lot, but still despise most of the people im stuck with. I like the Gith and Cleric. But i just wish i could fill the other slot with a custom character.

You can get a hireling I think from skelly guy out of a list, not sure you can customise them.
 
Never played D&D of any form, downloaded this afternoon, and think I might like it.... Kinda bewildering though, ended up dying in on the ship. No idea what I'm doing.

Trying to decide if I can be arsed learning how to play it, or refund and wait for Starfield..hmm.

I've only played DND once on a real short campaign, but a lot of game mechanics in other games use bits of the systems, so it should make reasonable sense to most people on how stuff works.

This plays a lot like games like Divinity 2 except a bit more in-depth.

Generally speaking on a turn you get movement and actions, with some classes having bonus actions or abilities, and some classes like Spell Casters getting spell slots for higher tier abilities that have limited uses between rest/encampments.

Short rest session refreshes some abilities and some hp, long rest session refreshes everything but needs supplies.

As you level up you can unlock more things, like more spell slots and more turn actions and things.

Yeah it seemed fairly straightforward, but I was using my weapons and spells in the fight on the ship at the start and everyone got murdered, so obviously doing something wrong.

What difficulty did you start on? I'd pick the left most one as a complete beginner until you know the systems a bit. Middle one is actually a bit of a challenge at times.

If you died at the demon vs mindflayer bit, you're meant to go past the big demon guy and head to the controls at the back of the ship.

Don't neglect the bow/ranged attack as well, you can use that if you can't close the distance in one turn, so you can move and then shoot.

I lucked out with that demon geezer, managed to kill him, but my orc girlie died, and was re-rolling to revive.

In the meantime, I got the other NPC orc to loot the demon, just before I escaped.

The male orc was dead in the next scene, but I was able to loot his body and get that sweet, highly desirable, fiery demon sword for my now back from the dead, orc babe :P

What difficulty, he one shotted me on the hardest setting until I realised I had to avoid him, he killed the flayer in like 3 rounds. Not that I decided to go back on what I said an purchase the game..

I'll be interested how alignment is handled,if I recall in BG2 people would leave your party depending on actions and their alignment. Think someone left jsut because I took on the drow party member..

Did you have the brain creature with you, and the other two, Shadowheart and the male orc (gith)?

No, my actions meant neither of those were with me ;) also, do you reckon may be those should go in the spoilers? I know it's very very picky but some people might not even want to know about those things.

Done. Out of interest, does anyone else suffer from pressing alt constantly to make sure they haven't missed anything. I struggled with this on the other games too

Me!

I tried to assign it to one of my multiple mouse keys, it shows as assigned in the menu, but doesn't work in game.
