Which 4090 - leaning towards the Ventus

I'm thinking of the Ventus or TUF. Gigabyte is out due to the fan revving issues but the TUF especially is prone to nasty coil whine.

Let me know how the coil whine is on your Ventus.
will try get it setup tomorrow and let you know, just been a bit too busy today to get it set up.

Those prices are not from OCUK but I expect OCUK will price-match if you ask unless it's from ebay.

I have a Zotac Trinity which works well and has UK RMA, not that I've needed it.

We don't make 20% so price matching is impossible.

Any idea/speculation how they are able to do that? I can't imagine they buy in a larger quantity than OCUK. :)

Noticed the prices have all gone up +200, so that's cheeky of them lol.

Sorry didn't get time to install today either - looking at Friday now unfortunately

Ha, just checked and yup they've put most of the prices up. Except the Ventus which is OOO.
Looks like I timed that well.

I'm guessing they make their money by people forgetting to pay off in the no interest period then hitting them with a huge interest lump sum.

They went down again. I ordered a Rog Strix. I'm done now, my last 4090 lol.

They changed the promo though, its not 20% off anymore its only £100 back instead of the £393 now so if you didn't pay outright I would be careful.

That only changed within the last few hours. I paid out right and they are refunding me £393. I got them to give it to me in writing lol. Long story but they "owed" me a 20% off code. Seems weird, prices and offers changing hourly lol. They surely sold me this at a loss!

How bad is it? In all games or just the Red Dead 2's of the world?
I didn't test it in red dead but cyberpunk. It can be heard from my sofa if I mute the TV. I would say on a scale of 1 to 10.. it would be around a six.

This is on a 4k oled at 110 FPS with everything maxed and DLSS 3 on.

It's different from the surpim I had, that would only whine when going to the map or talents yet in-game nada, however this is the opposite.

I have also limited it via Nvidias control panel to only output a max of 118 FPS too as my TV is 120hz.

Yeah, from what I read. They give you the cashback on the 28th of September I believe..

I also received an email confirming the 20 percent off too.

To be fair if its only when you mute the tv it shouldn't matter to much, outside of quiet scenes. One thing with Asus coil whine, is it often reduces quickly, unlike usual CW behaviour.

My test is Elden Ring. If it coil whines in that is a bad card, if it doesn't its a good one. It's kind of a half way game in terms of work load.
