Hi all,

Spec in sig, finally found a card with zero coil whine, the zotac 4090 amp extreme airo, but the RGB is clearly faulty. Even without using the firestorm software the card will randomly flash red or blue depending on which fan setting is on, every 30 seconds to a minute. Tried all the firestorm settings to no avail. Managed to find a few similar issues of those nature with this card and one person suggesting this card doesn't play well with MSI motherboards.

Looking like another return, all my BIOS etc is up to date. Has anyone else had this issue? Spec in sig. Even turning the RGB completely off in their firestorm software doesn't stop it. Such a shame as the coil whine is non existent.

Here is a quick video of the issue:

might sound stupid, have you reinstalled the software?

yeah I have and it was already doing this prior to firestorm being installed, which is awful software in my experience with it so far.
Ah ok - do you have another pc ? if not [assuming bought from ocuk] send it back and they'll test it and if found faulty replace it, or bought from elsewhere just send it back

It was doing it at initial boot up as well when I first installed the card and before any firestorm software was installed. I only use icue for my case.

I had the AMP Extreme Airo on air for a bit. RGB was just a mess back in April and there was a post saying Zotac was working on a fix. Went with a waterblock shortly after so never chased up.

The issue back then was down to firestorm. Uninstalling that helped. Used MSI Afterburner for OC etc.

Yeah tried everything I've read but it's still happening so will be going back tomorrow. Shame!

RMA or just a return? It'd be ages for an rma

Already sorted just waiting for the retailer to collect tomorrow via DPD, they've been brilliant. Just need to decide what to try next. Strix OC 4090 went back, had two both with horrific coil whine. I like the look of the Suprim X but again a risk with coil whine!
