Wifes 2.5 year wait is over.

That steering wheel is utter hell. And JLR must be paying lowest price for interior design. That's just an ugly slab of nothing.

Totally agree. I had all the touch stuff in my Evoque and it drove me mad trying to use it while keeping an eye on the road. I far prefer real buttons, switches and dials that give me tactile feedback. My Evoque was plagued with little software bugs too that would inexplicably happen with no rhyme or reaason.

It was a revelation going from that, back to an older Mini with well thought out controls and a real handbrake that let me release it when I wanted it released, not when it decided I was allowed to release it.
It was nothing like this to be fair. 24MY is the first of the all screen interface.

I don't usually like dunking on peoples' cars but that interior really is naff. They could've done so much with it but instead chose to make it look like it was designed to be an Uber. At least the wife will like it though!

Land Rover are just a mess at the moment, I had a sport on order for over a year without ever even receiving an eta before I gave up and cancelled the order

The lack of buttons on modern cars is ridiculous.

Just changing the ****** temperature in our company car (Skoda estate thing), I have to take my eyes off the road and line my finger up with the + or -.

In my BMW I quickly glance at the dial and done. Plus changing from maps, music, etc I can do without looking down at all.

What is this the trend?! I’d literally not get a newer car because of this.

Original on my 68 plate

That's what we should have had in June in Byron Blue, balck roof and black pack.

Landrover gave a build date and delivery date to the dealer then cancelled it for the 2024 model. Im gutted because it just looked 100% better all-round, but the wifes happy and it her car. :)

Well from a previous post she finally got her Velar P440e.

I sat in a Velar one Goodwood Festival of Speed, years back. It was an instant no because the central column was so shiny the sun reflected off it and made everything there unreadable and unusable.

That's pretty much every posh car nowadays tbh. My old Jaguar XF suffered really, really badly with it (2015).

I remember having some work done on my old Focus and as part of the included clean, they polished the entire dash. I hated it as soon as I got in as it was very reflective and insisted they clean it off so it was the original matt finish.

Got to say, I agree!

Ive borrowed the previous gen a few times and really liked the interior, but the new one is not my bag..

A splash of colour in the cabin might help (light leather), and as per previous gens, I’d see if the infotainment can be put in ‘dark mode‘ to make that not contrast too much.

Nice car. Hope she enjoys it.
We test drove one of these for a day as it was a consideration for an upgrade on our previous car. For us, it didn’t feel like a Range Rover and just felt like a big estate with lots of space that was unnecessary wasted and didn’t have the “command“ driving position that RR’s are famed for. Anyway, horses for course and all that. They’re a lovely thing to be in.

Based on my previous experience of Range Rovers though, make sure you move it on before the warranty or service agreement comes to an end.

I had a job brokering out car finance once, and used to get on with some of the car dealers that we would use regularly.

I remember one who worked at a land rover specialist and told me he thought they were terrible cars for reliability, and he literally sold them for a living lol.
