Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [30th Sept - 3rd October 2023]

That might be funny if our refs actually interacted with the monitors :p

Refs only get £100k a year? That's pretty crazy given the industry they're in and the pressure they're under and what's at stake.

Closer to 200k a year with match fees and bonuses taken into account.

should probably have a dedicated thread for var and referees now given the car crash this has turned into.
We do here. There will be a lot of overlap between chat around VAR and specific decisions from the weekends matches so discussion is fine in here for now but I'll tidy everything up in the VAR thread in a day or two.

Who are PIFC? Mcfc Man City?

Ex players don’t agree with the rules is what they generally mean. By the rules it was a red, if you don’t agree with the rules (which I don’t) that’s a different discussion.
The appeal would probably be based on the fact it wasn't a Red. The ref saw it and gave a yellow, it then comes down to if the yellow was clear and obvious error, you can't have it both ways where you can't do anything about the offside because... protocol, but also protocol doesn't apply here.

If there are subjective decisions in the game then having ex players input will help officials see the otherside as it were - take the ake offside, an ex player can give the keepers perspective on how someone right in front of him will alter his judgement

seems nothing will happen but what if the end of the season that point really did matter, then what ?
Nothing, they won’t and can’t be expected they give us the goal and ends in us gaining 1pt

Some fans expecting that are being unrealistic

All any one wants is the people operating var investigated and an actual outcome they answer for there errors, by errors I don’t just mean our game the many they have gotten wrong for other clubs

I hope our statement club wise encourages or infact the league itself all say enough is enough, the refs have been consistently poor for too long and never held accountable

that i all agree with, it has and will continue to happen though.

When you look at Chelsea’s upcoming fixtures, this is a vital win.

They have a disgusting run coming up, Arsenal, Spurs, City, Newcastle, Brighton

I don't think Gallagher knows how to turn with the ball...he just get it from defenders and then gives it back where it came, even when he is in his own half with lots of space. Does he not look around him before he receives it? Obviously not.
