4090 Owners, opinions/experiences please :)

Oh man 60Hz, what year is it :p

Honestly though once you've gone 120Hz VRR or above it's a game changer, so smooth, so instant

Cannot ever see a 4090 dropping below £1000 used this side of 2025. That would only happen if the 5080 is actually as good as a 4090, and costs less than 4090 money at its current price, which let's be real won't be happening. I predict average 4090 used price at time of 50 series launch to be around £1100.

I had a 3080 Ti FE before going to the 4090, the 4070 Ti is about on par with the 3080 Ti when frame gen is not being used from what I recall seeing, that upgrade didn't seem like an upgrade other than gaining the use of frame gen and AV1 hardware encoding, and that would be it really. But then again the base fps would be too low to actually enjoy frame gen at my resolution and refresh rate (3440x1440 144Hz). So I just robbed a convenience store and got the 4090 and never looked back.

I sometimes game at over 4K 144Hz (DLDSR) but usually it's everything maxed with DLSS Quality at 3440x1440 which is superb with modern games like Cyberpunk and Alan Wake 2 etc for path tracing.

I can see it. We will have to wait and see. At some point in 2025 a 4090 will sell for under £1000 ;)

Not sure, but that feels like deja vu. I think if you check your bookmarks we may have already had this exact conversation 6-12 months ago

We will see. They have already been selling for £1300 on members market. You telling me they won't sell for under £1000 in two years time?

If I knew I could get a 4090 from members market for £1300 and still sell it for over £1000 in 2 years time, I would be somewhat tempted, but that just does not seem realistic. They will be selling under £1000 in 2025.

Hahaha, for SP I just don't really see the point, I've played with 120-165hz 1:1 on my 1440P monitor, I really don't feel the jump to be honest. The only time I'd warrant using it, would be playing CS, which I don't bother with anymore lol.

Hahaha!

With 5090s not being shipped to buyers as late as July, the time be slipping by fast and 4090s still be escalating in price :p

Yeah but being close is still no cigar. A moment of FOMO crazy from current 4090 owners jumping on the 5090 hype only to realise the mistake once reviews came in doesn't count

People never learn, do they? I get daily temptations to cash in my investment into 4090 but then there's nothing else to buy at all... What times to live in! :p

A mistake? How is selling a 4090 for more than it cost almost 2 years ago and upgrading to a 5090 for ~£300 a mistake? Lol :D

Which is fine if you are the 1% who were able to get a 5090 in stock for msrp..... And it does not have missing rops or the shopping list of other issues

I'll stick with the 4090 thanks.

Not only that but I still play (yet to complete) the Batman trilogy, and I like to play with PhysX at 100 fps (my monitor limit) and not at the 7 fps I'd get with a 5090.

Yea, it's crap what they did with PhysX.

I'm just glad I completed those games back in the day and had no plans to re-visit them. Just like Borderlands 2, played it to death back in the day, single player and with a group, farmed all the legendries and got up to OP level 8. I love the game but there's no way I'd go back to it now... I've yet to play Borderlands 3 and Tiny Tina even though I pre-ordered both of them lol. In fact, I probably have close to 30 AAA games which I pre-ordered or bought on release which I've not played yet so there is no chance I'll be going back to old games I've already completed (although I did go back and replay Alice Madness Returns and Crysis Remastered last year and I plan to replay the Bioshock games at some point, so I guess I will. It just won't be Arkham or BL2).
