Then you should definitely get Nintendo Switch Online, download the SNES app and play Mario Bros 3, Mario World and Zelda Link to the Past. All classic games that hold up today.Braw, thanks for the all the recommendations.
I'll maybe start of with Odyssey for the more recent ones. I'm awaiting delivery of an Anbernic RG35XX Plus so I'll batter through all the older ones on that whenever it arrives!
I was definitely a Sega kid when I was younger so Sonic was my go-to. I'll even confess to having only played 3 Zelda games - Twilight Princess, BOTW, and TOTK, which I never finished!

The first 3D mario game you should play Is Super Mario 64. There is a pc port now with many enhancements such as 60fps and wide-screen if you want to go that route.Braw, thanks for the all the recommendations.

I've got Nintendo Online but I've never actually used any of the emulators on it - I'll give them a whirl tonight. Then you should definitely get Nintendo Switch Online, download the SNES app and play Mario Bros 3, Mario World and Zelda Link to the Past. All classic games that hold up today.
I've always liked the thought of the older Zelda games that have a bit more direction, just never got round to actually playing them. BOTW and TOTK were a bit too open for me.The first 3D mario game you should play Is Super Mario 64. Shame you didn't try Zelda Ocarina of time. Again again there is a pc port with enhancements. I didn't really like botw and totk due to no traditional dungeons and many a times endless running with little interactions.

The new retro console I've ordered should have all the old Zelda games on it so I'll definitely give them a playthrough. I did ponder with Zelda remakes for the Switch but the prices are still pretty wild for them, typical Nintendo there I suppose.
Id love to be in your position, you’ve got a great back catalogue of Mario and Zelda games to play through, most of them brilliant!Picked up Super Mario Odyssey and start playing through A Link to the Past with Nintendo Online, and it's really annoyed me that it's taken me until now to play them! Both fantastic games.
Totally inclined to play through all the older Zelda's now.
Make sure you don't gloss over Links Awakening on the Gameboy Colour, it's crazy how much is crammed into a little GB cartTotally inclined to play through all the older Zelda's now.
Well I am glad you finally got there. A Link to the Past still holds up today. One of my favourite games ever. Agreed, Links Awakening on Switch is so, so pretty and is done really well. does the original a polished justiceMake sure you don't gloss over Links Awakening on the Gameboy Colour, it's crazy how much is crammed into a little GB cart
The Switch remaster is also worth looking at if you want something more graphically modern.
It really is nicely done and shows how near perfect the original was. The fact that it is pretty much just a graphical overhaul and no real gameplay tweaks confirms this.Agreed, Links Awakening on Switch is so, so pretty and is done really well. does the original a polished justice
I was looking at the Link's Awakening remaster but the price seems a bit steep, it does look really good. I've got some games I need to trade in so might treat myself!Make sure you don't gloss over Links Awakening on the Gameboy Colour, it's crazy how much is crammed into a little GB cart

Initially, I was sceptical whether it would hold my attention or not being an old game but I can't put it down. For a game that's older than me, it's incredible.Well I am glad you finally got there. I wouldn't call it a remaster. Its more of a full remake. It's a brilliant game.I was looking at the Link's Awakening remaster but the price seems a bit steep, it does look really good. I've got some games I need to trade in so might treat myself!
