New pc build

So onto my next selection, a white psu, as you expect not many available but the only 2 I can find that are available are:
Cooler Master MWE Gold 1050 V2 ATX 3.0 1050W PSU Modular White Power Supply

And

1050W Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 Snow, PCIe 5, Fully Modular

I think the cooler master has a bigger fan (140) where as the thermaltake has a (120)

both will do

So doesn’t matter if one has a bigger fan (better cooling etc) ?
The fan size isn't necessarily significant, since it depends on the components used (and their placement, efficiency & heat output), the size of the heatsinks, how aggressive the fan profile is, etc.

According to the Cybenetics reports, the PF3 1050 had an average noise (@ 230v) of 32.84 dB(A), the MWE V2 1050 had an average noise of 37.11 (there's a more detailed graph later in the report).

So far so good,
To compromise on a white 4090 gpu and buy a black gpu for just a bit cheaper, what do I need for the lian li lancool 216 (white) case to get the gpu vertically ?

you just nned the pcie4 riser cable. From what I unsderstand that gets screwed in to the bottom of the case is holes provided, and the bracket with the pcie slot covers(if explaining it right) can be rotated 90 degrees... link the manual below , pg 10 shows better

think it's this one below

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £63.98 (includes delivery: £3.99)

Thankyou everyone with helping me sort out my next build, all parts bought and waiting for delivery,
Apart from the main one (gpu)
Really want a 4090 but the price of them are ridiculous, how hard is it to get a 4090fe ?

Might get easier after the 4080super launch. Then again, if performance is up and halfway to a 4090, you may want to take a serious look yourself as £1k a lot more palpable to £1.6k+. Launch is 31st so review embargo 30th, 6am Pacific time, so think that's 1pm uk time....if it is good, best bet is getting on launch day...4090fe might still be bought for AI purposes, but for gamers gravitating to 4080 super(if good), every time a 4090 drops it may hang around longer.
Used to be an alert you could set up for drops called FEPaartAlert, but it was shut down with 4000 series launch as stock wasn't flying off shelves so to speak..might be something similar around that'll help, otherwise it's just checking nvidia website periodically to see if there's been a drop...drops are random for day/time, so becomes a bit of luck...worth following the 4000 series thread in the forum, as owners can say sometimes if a drop happens

Hi I actually bought my very first founders edition gpu, never managed to get one over the years,
Now I have installed it vertically do I have to change any settings via the asus bios ?

Might be normal but when I boot up the new pc it takes awhile for the gpu to boot in sync with the motherboard,

Have only enabled evo/expo or whatever it’s called for the ram sticks and enabled resize bar

Any other settings I need to change within the asus b560e-e mobo ?

So for gaming and future proofing amd ryzen 7 7800x3d is the best
the 78003d is the best but it doesn't give you that much bang for the bucks, all you need is a cpu that can drive a 4090 properly, which the 7700 will do, it's great bang for buck, and comes with a cooler, it's cheaper than the 78003d too, so between that and not having to get a cooler, you are saving circa £80
you're still futureproofed, because you can always drop a second hand 78003d in there later

e any other that people suggest that would be compatible for upgrading components in the future
I'd spend the extra on the rogstrix x670wifi, for the 5.0pcie, for faster m.2s' and potential future pcie 5.0 graphics cards, It's what I did anyway. maybe one day I'll be on something better than a UHD monitor, and need a in the future pcie 5.0 gpu to run it, idk, might not have the cash then, but in the meantime, I'm enjoying my pcie5 m.2 speed

Sorry didn’t inform everyone I already have the parts and installed,

My previous post was getting information as to what settings need changing via the mobo

apart from expo, only thing i had to do was update the bios, but the board was fairly new out when i bought it. I'd hope a board bought now would have an up to date bios preinstalled. So did you get a 4090fe from nvidia direct?

I got the asus b650e-e mobo as I wanted the led code that comes up whenever theirs a problem,
Ryzen 7 7800x3d
Lian li lancool 216 case
Thermalright peerless assassins cooler
G.skill trident z5 nero 32gb ddr5-6000 cl30
Lexar nm790 2tb m.2
Vertical mount
Thermaltake toughpower gf a3 snow 1050w psu
And yes I did get a 4090fe from nvidia direct, and it’s a beauty, will be definitely staying on the founders edition route whenever I upgrade,

I have the resize bar on via the mobo should I turn that off ?
I’m sure I was told to do something in the mobo when you mount your gpu vertically ? Or maybe that was last gen.

Was last gen but still somewhat relevant, people were using gen 3 rated risers with gen 4 gpu's, slots and running in to problems so the advice waa to force pcie 3 in bios.
