Words! How do they wrok?

English does my head in. Take "OW" what sound does it make? Is it OW or is it OH?

BrOWn - OW
ClOWn - OW
OWner - OH
BlOWn - OW
FlOWn - OH

Why is Clown an OW sound but Flown isn't?

These are the real questions that we should be asking of government. Not the cost of living crisis or some rubbish like that.

I watched a video a while back of someone with a 4 letter flipboard type thing going through similar and it was pretty ridiculous the way pronunciation changes with specific words.

Words don't come easy to me
How can I find a way to make you see I love you?
Words don't come easy
Words don't come easy to me
This is the only way for me to say I love you
