I'd say it was all easier in days gone by but at least people don't have to queue up at stores these days. Showing my age here.

I swear I checked my basket lol. I was tempted to just buy it all to be quicker. but not sure I needed a 7800x3d and a 9800x3d and 2 motherboards. Not even sure when I put that stuff in there. I'm in wave 1 regardless so i'm all good.

So it seems X3D adds £150 to the cost. It's basically a 9700x with the extra cache.

Turned out it was my credit card issuer that did me in, they security flagged the transaction to make sure it was me making it. Got it sorted with them and then they flagged it again when I was actually on the phone with them. Now I'm stuck waiting to get that sorted out before I can get the pre-order through.

No why do AMD need to give stuff away on brand new product. They might do give-aways and discounts in a years time when they need to try and sell it, for now they can sell thousands easily, be glad they did not price it higher.

Honestly, he was amazing. I didn't even appreciate it at the time... When I left the company policy was to refuse to give any references for anyone, and if companies asked they would refuse to acknowledge if people had even worked there or not, it was Retail. not MI5 ffs (just dumb) so he told me to give his personal details instead. just amazing.

It's still only a 8 core CPU if they had priced it higher I'd of gone for the 9700x for sure. But anyways glad I got one.

UPDATE:

Wave 1 Stock: Due next week and sold out around 14:10 - 14:15 if you ordered before 14:15 you should have your CPU next week.
Wave 2 Stock: Due in about two weeks time, sold out around 14:45, if you ordered before 14:45 you should have your CPU this month.
Wave 3 Stock: Due in December, anyone who placed an order after 15:00 don't expect your CPU until December.

We will endeavour to push extremely hard to get stock in as soon as possible, as I say we have 10,000 units on back order, we have now pre sold over 1200 units.
Anyone placing an order now (15:30 onwards on November 7th) do not expect to receive your 9800X3D until December. We are pushing AMD very hard and are keeping them well informed of our pre-order totals.

Its not a paper launch. Paper launch means there is no stock, There is stock its just stuck in customs, thats a Uk and Brexit problem palin and suimple. I think most predicted £450

Unknown, but limited gains expected in gaming from tight 6000 timings.
