Install HA to your new system as normal. Install the Google Backup addon. Restore from the latest backup. Sorted.
So long as you’ve got a backup, HA is very easy to restore to a previous state or new hardware.

TBF most Linux based systems will just boot wherever you stick the drive.
So, you reckon if I just take the SSD out of my current T530, stick it in the new Optiplex, it'll just boot and work? Might give it a go, will save me finding the right Haos image etc... if not, it doesn't sound like it'll take too long to take the new SSD out, flash Haos and install a backup.

I wanted to repurpose my Phillips Hue Outdoor Motion sensor to trigger my Govee perm outdoor lights to just light up the Porch area and EV Charger..
Whilst the Govee official integration doesn't allow full control, just simple on/off, I was at least able (within 5 mins) to get HA to turn on the lights between sunset and 10PM, and then after 10PM it's on motion sense until the Lux level > 50..

I will install one of the Govee LAN API add-ons and then I can switch scenes automatically and get it a bit more integrated so will do that for Xmas..
They are the standard v2s , I needed them in black and those were the only ones offered in both black and white.
It's the simplest method, although can take a while for HA to do a full restore. Now you've bought some beefier hardware I would seriously recommend installing Proxmox and deploying HA as a VM. That way you can snapshot your VM and restore it within 10s of seconds if needed as opposed to doing the in-app restore.
Ah, too late, it was delivered this morning. I made a full backup, about 25gb, flashed Ubuntu onto a usb drive and booted into trial mode to flash Haos onto the SSD, then restored the backup. Took an hour or so, but everything back working perfectly. Only changes needed were a few tweaks to the Frigate config as my Coral won't work in the new machine so using the CPU/GPU instead.
I'm looking the look of those Govee lights, but are rather spendy. So, been looking direct on AliExpress. Anyone for any suggestions? Was being drawn to these https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100...=scene:pcDetailTopMoreOtherSeller|query_from: which seems decent, but not sure on HA integration. Hoping it's not Tuya based.

Regarding the lights, generally if something works with both Alexa and Google Assistant then it’s Tuya based
I have an A&E Key M2 Coral, it fits but isnt recognised it seems. CPU is ticking over now at 20-30%, without a Coral, vs 80-90% with Coral previously, so big improvement. Inference speeds are ~15ms, so pretty good so not sure if I need a Coral now. This is for 6 cameras.
Shame about those lights. Are the Govee wifi only via the Govee app on HA? Would love some but at £200+ for 30m, its a bit too much for me atm.

Govee lights can usually be connected by the Govee2MQTT add on which reduces latency quite considerably by edging out the cloud connection. It's a pretty painless experience.

Have several Google Nest hubs, which I use with a Nest Thermostat, Nest Hello wired doorbell and several TP-Link smart plugs that I use to control various lights throughout the house. Baffilingly, at about 4.40 this afternoon, everything went offline. Thought at first it could just be an outage on Google’s end, but the TP-Link smart plugs are also offline through the Kasa app as well. The Nest hubs however are responding to voice commands, can stream stuff through YouTube, Spotify etc, so it doesn’t look like an internet issue.
We’re on Plusnet Fibre, and everything else in the house is working fine, Sky Q boxes, phones, tablets, laptops etc are all using the internet as normal, and as far as I’m aware, nothing else has changed on the network.
Really don’t know what the problem could be, it just seems weird that both Nest and TP-Link devices have gone down at the same time considering they’re separate services. Anyone have any guesses as to what could be going on?

Mysteriously just started working again about an hour later.
My Tapo p110 plugs are starting to fail (damn annoying) and I am reluctant, now, to get more of them, even though they work SO well with HA.
Does anyone have any recommendations on alternative smart switches that have energy monitoring that work nicely with HA and don't cost the earth?
I'm unsure about ZigBee as I run HA on a virtual machine that doesn't do USB pass through (hyper V)

Fail in what way? Mine occasionally stop responding until power cycled.
When powering off, the led lights change and it clicks, energy monitoring stops, but it doesn't actually break contacts inside, so appliances still supplied with power.
Another one completely lost it and rapidly flicked on and off. That's binned now.
Interesting, I had a bad experience with the TPLink sockets, those were the last gen before the rebrand to TAPO, but did the same thing, the relay would click but either not power on or off..
In terms of what to buy now..
If you want zigbee, you can use an ethernet coordinator to get around the USB issue and those are quite popular and seem reliable.. I've moved my Samsung Smartthings plugs over to directly connect via Zigbee and those have been used for 4 years with zero issues.
Alternatively, I have some Shelly Plus Plugs, they are compact, use WiFi/BT and the integration in HA is excellent, they firmware update through HA, can be used locally and provide energy monitoring..
With a good WiFi setup in the house, I'm now finding current gen WiFi IoT devices really reliable and less problematic than zigbee, but if you have WiFi issues in your house, then don't bother!
