We did 1 phone call to cancel just before christmas last year, they called us back the next day with that offer!
You actually have to sign up with someone else before they give you the good prices.
Load of rubbish. Literally just threatened to move and got a good deal. PRevious time I cancelled and was in ym 30 day window with no intent to moving to anyone else and managed to negotiate a good price eventually. You actually have to sign up with someone else before they give you the good prices. They can check it seems
I'm £33 a month for 1Gig stand alone. Make me cry and say you have better lolYou don't lol. I've negotiated a lower price on my Gig1 connection twice now. The first time I had to put in a cancellation request and got a call back and the second time I was lucky and was offered a lower price after a bit of back and forth on their live chat.
They shouldn't be able to check if you've signed a contract with a provider on another network.
Well on the website they offered me to renew at £29.37 for 18 months on 500mb I rang them and they offered me 500mb for £26.37 and 1gig for £26.37. Im on 500mb and currently paying £29.37 after originally agreeing £27 18 months ago. I didnt go for the 1 gig as i dont need it and if im not on the top package then it leaves me some negotiation wiggle room especially as they tend to screw you on downgrades. Finally i agreed on £23.37 for 500mb for 18 monthsI'm £33 a month for 1Gig stand alone. Make me cry and say you have better lol
Has anyone changed ISP, moving away from VM, apparently when you sign up elsewhere your new ISP cancel your current ISP for you, is this a new thing?, I watched it on tv last week one of the morning shows was talking about it.
Guess if it works it saves all the hassle of phoning yourself.
That would be the case if they were using the same infrastructure and last part of the cabling such as with OR based FTTP as they cannot share.
In other cases then no, unless you tell them your existing ISP and do some sort of termination fee deal. If they're not paying off your existing separate service then why would anyone even tell the new ISP who the old one is? For example I added Aquiss/OR service to our home which already had VM which I retained as I like redundancy and had previously used 4G as the other service.
Bit confused by your last part about telling new isp who you are with currently, does it need to be some secret then?
If you're not cancelling the existing service and its a separate fibre/cable then I wouldn't tell them as who knows if they may try to do something with that info.
Wow,Come out of contract and my 1Gig deal was hiked right up.
Just been onto the customer support for about 2 hours, and I've got a deal for 18 months of 1 gig for £36.44
Which is great for those that can't get whatever you can?Wow,
That's expensive. Glad I ditched VM a few years back.
I'm £2.50 more than you for 3Gbps
