I never got to Gutersloh.
I did many trips to mainland Europe as Eurotrainers when I was on Chinooks.
We used to do an over nighter in RAF Laarbruch and many visits to Ramstein Air Base..
We also had a few days at Finthen Army Airfield (which ironically had Chinooks), when we had engine transmission issues.

Only ever rode in a Chinook once as part of a family day out of Fairford.
I did Gutersloh, Ramstein, Paderborn, Sennelager, Fallingbostel and Hohne all as part of drawdown - I worked in the IT department for these:

Air Con, yes - when it worked. But we also had the daily rockets
, hence you see me mid-build of the 'coffin' bed spaces. If you want tents, Gulf War round 1:
