When Indiana Jones goes into 17.5gb vram or whatever what is the performance penalty on a 16gb card?

$699 x 3 = $2097 not $1599OMG a tripling in price almost since the 1080ti. No way inflation works that way! 50 series I’m out unless I get given £2000 for free by someone then I might… I just might…

Agree with everyone that prices are too high, even allowing for inflation $699 in 2017 is roughly equivalent to $888 today
Always thought 3000>4000 was really good as i feel the 4090 has great performance

3090/ti says hello.
Unfortunately the 40series tech advancement is in line with the rest of the world. We can get extra performance, but only if you pay for it. Nvidia margins are good no doubt but I doubt it's egregious

That's my hard limit. However it also depends on the 5080 price. I'm not paying +1000 between levels. No way the performance gap will justify that

the 4080 was a bit of a brick, 4070s/ti super and really good cards too, just not priced well
Im not looking forward to these prices hikes for very little real life gains hopefully the 5080 will pummel the 4090. We shall see. But as a whole there needs more grunt at the bottom tiers or pc gaming is just going to die

yer im just saying in general i feel the 4070s and 4070ti s, was very good. the super line up did make a big differance to the 4000 cards

If it ever went over 16 on my 4090 it was rare. For an outlier I'd just lower a setting over spending a grand +.Till it runs out of vram and gives you a slide show & stutter feast
would you buy a 5090 and why?

You could say that about anything. A nice car, a luxury holiday, the best golf clubs, tv etc.

yer thats all good was just asking, what about the 12900k? if you dropping 2.2k into a GPU id expect you to have the best gaming cpu too
