Is it possible to get WIndows 11 on a Intel Core i7-7700T pc?

Can you upgrade or does it have to be a fresh install as th video or similar mentioned wiping the disk. I wasn't sure id it ment the usb flash drive or the pc drive ?
 
Upgrade works just fine if you set the registry key to not block it.
  1. Access the Registry Editor:
    • Press Windows + R, type regedit, and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
  2. Navigate to the Setup Key:
    • Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup.
    • If the MoSetup key doesn’t exist, you’ll need to create it:
      1. Right-click on Setup, select New > Key, and name it MoSetup.
  3. Create a New DWORD Value:
    • Right-click in the right pane, select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value, and name it AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU.
    • Double-click on this value and set its data to 1.
    • Click OK and close the Registry Editor.

Literally did this yesterday on a i3 of similar vintage for my father.

was going to ask a similar question regarding a i5 7500, its in a dell optiplex 5050 ive had sat around at work for a while, tried to install windows 11 on it, then it said not supported, i reset the bios to factory defaults and it installed just fine was running version 23H2 but after all the initial updates it was flagging up it was out of date but it wouldnt update to 24H2. Created a new media usb from microsoft, booted from that and it installed 24H2 without any complaints so i'm a little confused?

Microsoft quietly relaxed a bunch of restrictions for installing Win11 months ago. For instance, my 8-year old surface laptop gen 1 refused to run stable even if I used the various hacks to install it at first.

A few months ago I just tried again with a fresh Win11 usb image and it installed perfectly, no hacks needed, rock solid stable and better performance than win10.

Thought id read something along those lines, I was just a little confusedas it wouldnt upgrade from 23H2 to 24H2 and when I ran the healthcheck app it said the cpu still wasnt compatible, booting from a native ms usb stick with 24H2 on its fine

24H2 can also be blocked by installed software.

There is a number of issues with 24H2 and something installed could be preventing it. I would stay on 23H2 atm and not rush to install 24H2 until they have fixed all the issues

Yeah i guess so although was a fresh install so you would assume nothing installed to block but you never know

After issues first started appearing I think it was pulled for awhile and then rolled out in stages.

I have The Division 2 installed which uses Easy Anti Cheat and this was causing crashes with 24H2 so was blocked from being installed

When did you download the ISO to make the install media?

I built a PC over Christmas and the ISO downloaded directly from Microsoft was labelled 24H2, I did not install it as wanted 23H2. I just tried again now and the ISO is still has 24H2 in its ISO name

I didnt download the iso I just used the mediacreation tool from microsoft that does it directly and I did that today
