Hi,
Looking for a switch for the kids snug, as i understand them they are a handheld and then play on the TV if you dock them.

i expect 90%+ to be docked play with two player mode, are there hardware benefits to the various models or is it just the screens?

more quality experience led than budget led but wouldnt prioritise features that are only present on the move.

Thank you wise ones

Between the switch and oled it’s only screen and battery. The switch lite does not dock, so wouldn’t be suitable.

Switch 2 announcement is in April with a release this year, so it might be worth either waiting or getting a second hand none oled to tie you over.

You sir are a star thank you

you'll probably be able to pick up the OLED switch pretty cheap, now the switch 2 is announced.
worth checking how much you'll save and if it's not a lot get the OLED
when i was buying one i knew it was going to be permanently docked, but i got the OLED anyway just in case

As others have said “standard” is probably best for you, but if the OLED isn’t much more, then go for that.

If you’re buying used you may see v1 and v2 listed. Pretty much the same, but the v2 had a slightly better battery and it patched a homebrew exploit (that’s why v1s are generally more expense)

Tip: Buy a cheap dongle that does hdmi and power delivery and you can easily plug it into multiple TVs without moving the dock. I bought one for less than $5 delivered.
