Intel Nova Lake (16th gen) on next gen platform/socket (LGA-1954)

Nova Lake leak confirms 48core i9 (16P core, 32E core). Should be a beast! Wonder if it'll match 9800X3D in games though

16 p-cores is a good thing, just turn off half the e-cores in bios and your good... and you could probably keep it cool

Does this mean Nova Lake will be on the current LGA 1851 socket cycle? Intel are keeping very quiet on this and I don't want to purchase a mboard platform that has essentially no upgrade ability.

Alarmingly it's two chiplets

Each chiplet has 8 P cores and 16 E cores

And so far Intel has serious latency issues with chiplets they need to fix it asap

It will be good for multithreaded though, this will easily crush the 9950x. AMD will need to go to 24 or 32 cores for Ryzen to compete

My current view is that they would have been shouting from the rooftops if they were releasing anything else on that platform.
It'd make it a lot easier for people to stomach the current products.
Their silence says a lot.

I may be wrong its not normally something Intel does, as I am sure they have not said anything in the past.

Also if you want a recent example of a single gen MB / CPU setup look no further than the AMD TRX40 MB's and CPU's (TR 3960X) as I got burnt with those and those where a lot more expensive.

Threadripper?

What a shame. I think Intel won't last too much longer.

yerrr... errr... no!
think about how low AMD have been intel is still Massive in comparison.
i mean do you remember Bulldozer hahaha i sold an i5 to got one... then there quickly returned that crap and went to an i7
