I have a lot i could say about what i think about Musk... some of which may get me in trouble here............ but there are as many people who would buy a tesla because of him as who would boycott them imo.
add to that there are the silent majority (I believe) who just face palm when they see him but at the same time it would not stop them buying a tesla if they liked the car or the charging etc.

I'd love one but the wife didn't like them.
In cases like this I don't think of Musk, I think of the workers it will affect and it isn't fair on them because of the t******.

looks wise I like the model S as well as the face lift 3.and Y.
personally the old 3 and Y do nothing for me looks wise. inside I am not keen either but I would get one as a 2nd car if price was right.

My Model 3 PCP finance runs out in September this year. I’m already looking at alternatives and if I can get a decent deal on one, looks like it’ll be a Polestar 4.

The Tesla I financed myself with a decent deposit as my employer didn’t have a SS scheme at the time. They introduced one about a year into my Model 3 ownership.
The P4 is currently £60pm more for the single motor version than my monthly for the Tesla (I have an M3 LR). But that £60 extra includes VED, maintenance, tyres and insurance.
I’m waiting on a deal the broker claims is coming in the next few days which means I could get the dual motor P4 for about the same prices as the single motor is currently!

Yes, she is loving the car, especially now she’s got it all setup the way she wants it. Plus we have the granny charger setup, so charging it at home on the night tariff for pennies, not that it has to be done often, should be even easier in the summer. Whilst I’m hoping to get a bit longer out of my car, I’m sure mine will be an electric next.

Tempted to change the Model Y to something else but I can’t get the man maths to add up at all. We don’t need two big cars really (I probably shouldn’t have bought the Y in the first place but it was almost too good of a deal to turn down at the time).
Does she do really low miles to only need to charge infrequently at 2kW? I have to rinse my cheap period daily. I get 5 hours of discounted rates and my car takes 4 hours 55 minutes to charge according to my painstaking nerding out over my smart meter readings from the last month
That still doesn't fully cover my commute in this weather all be it in a very inefficient PHEV.I'm generally quite tight fisted when it comes to drains on my finances and I took that to the next level by jumping to Tomato energy. I only joined yesterday but so far my account is only showing half a dozen half hourly readings sporadically over the course of the day. Hopefully it will populate over the next day or so. Anyway, 5p/kWh will save me a FORTUNE... and by fortune I mean about 50p per day across all our energy use
I'll lose that much in not getting free coffees from Greggs

50p per day does not sound much.......... but over £175 a year sounds a bit better. (almost cover your car tax from April 2026 )

Quick q, how much capacity leeway do you all look for in a new EV? When the costs get released I might be tempted into a Puma Gen-E, my only use is doing 66mile round trip to work 4 times a week, pretty much 1/3 motorway, 1/3 a road, 1/3 city. I reckon that would be what,20-25kWh? Not sure if the 43kWh pack would be pushing it?

66 mile round trip will be more than fine. However, I’d be looking at the 10% use case and if it works there rather than the 90%.
I’d wait for reviews before getting invested in the Puma. The on paper specs are a bit ‘2019’ so it needs to be cheap. It’s up against loads of other cars in this segment which almost all have bigger batteries and have been on the market for awhile so there are good ‘discounts’ available.
