That's your take. Plenty of us have things we like to sit back relax and watch on a big screen.

Why do you even care that much on what others do or don't with YT.

Work colleague used to get his premium via Indian workaround. He recently got an email from Google to the affect of "we know you're not an Indian user". We now have a work family account with some of us on paying a few quid each.

wasted minutes Unfortunately can't see a decent chrome extension that would tell me how many seconds I spend on youtube videos a day ...
on mobiles are those stats accurate ? or does it assume you watch whole video, when avg is apparently 37%

whenever you walk on the high street and the yooiots nearly bump into you - you have to wonder why no one told them you can ffwd in YT to identify any useful bit.

meanwhile terrestrial soaps/corrie having their hours cut - had to laugh that apparently their competition soaps on streaming are bridgerton & yellowstone

What are you on about?

Why does YouTube only have to be for videos that have "useful bits" and not just for enjoyment of the whole video?

Is it not obvious? Only his taste counts as worthwhile.

Either that or he's yet to work out there's literally everything on there so for unclear reasons keeps spending time (only seconds mind you.. seconds!) watching stuff that doesn't interest him.

It's bizarre ackchyually elbows too pointy you wouldn't understand I knew them before they were famous self congratulatory stuff.

On the plus side reading it has now given me something to log under the "wasted minutes" category.
 
So my sub was up yesterday and try as I might, I couldn't get it to work in any cheap areas. I have lasted less then 3 hours of viewing videos, before I have cracked and had to find a way to deal with the ads! I thought people exaggerated with how many, and just how bad the ads are. It really is awful and makes it completely unwatchable. I decided to try Smart tube for the first time as most of my viewing is on a chromecast with google tv. It's like a breath or fresh air! It's premium but with a bit of a worse skin which I will happily deal with. It was super easy to install from the AFTV downloader. Signing into Smart tube is also a breeze as you can use Youtube on a PC to verify the login, without providing any passwords.

I don't think I will ever go back to premium tbh, sponsor block and ad block are great and provide a better service than premium!

Saying they provide a better service is a stretch as you’ve already stated your viewing of YouTube is restricted via chromecast, what exactly makes this a better option than Premium for say those who watch YouTube on multiple devices, aside from sponsorblock that is?

FYI Poland still works, a bit dearer than what we could get before but still a lot cheaper than the UK prices.

I’m happy to pay the still considerably cheaper YouTube Premium and not have to worry about using 3rd party tools to get things running properly.

I've just returned my Firestick to my Samsung (Tizen TV) and installed Smart Tube. I'd forgotten just how nice and simple that app is and it's certainly a keeper. Smart Tube has many settings and features available, more than the standard YouTube app, and with the app automatically updating these days, there's no messing around trying to get things working when YouTube changes things and breaks all the third-party apps and addons etc.

The £16 premium account I purchased recently is also still working fine, I can switch between the app with my account and premium on different devices but sharing the premium login with others has been a godsend, fingers crossed, everything seems to be running smoothly on all fronts!
 
Why do people buy premium or want it?

I mean, if its because of no ads then just use Brave browser! Thats what i use. No ads..

Or, is there more to having premium YT?
