Ohhhh arrrrrr.

I'm proper addicted to this. It's so sad as well.

I got into potatoes recently, regretting it, they are so much more work over grain crops.

Have you played any previous versions.?
Just wondering how easy it is to get into.?

Also, noted 22 is quite popular, and with mods. Some suggesting that aspects of that game, like animal husbandry, is better than 25.

Did you get the Steam or Giants version.?

Nope not played any of the previous ones, got the Steam version.

I suspect a lot of that is that 22 is well established, polished and with several years of mod support.

Oh yes, I get why some of those who have had previous experience have noted some issues with the new release.
For me, like you I guess, that is not too important.
I suppose it doesn't matter what version you get in the respects of the official mods, they each link back to the Giants mod database.

I might be tempted with that one, your post reminding me, although KCD 2 is interesting and Civ VII isn't.

Farming sim 22 was free on Epic a while back.. so if you do the get the free games.. then you may already have FS 22..

Oh, wow. I knew that one day I would need to actually use a game that I had collected, if I remembered that I had it...!

It seems that I already own both 19 and 22, didn't remember that..!

Thanks

Do you get to drive your tractor in a town centre honking your horn every few seconds with a group of like minded online players?

Downloaded a map called Schwesing Bahnof which you can just download via the in game mod menu section.

It's so nice, about 3 times bigger than any of the base game maps, and really detailed and realistic looking.

Wish I had switched to this sooner

I'm just trying to work out the ecosystem of silage/cows/slurry and biogas as it's completely new to me going from growing grain crops and potatoes.

But the basic idea is you grow grass, turn that into hay and silage, which you feed to your cows.

Your cows produce milk, slurry, manure and erm, more cows I guess.

You can then use the slurry/manure to use as fertiliser but also use it as fuel in a biogas generator, which ultimately generates electricity you can sell.

But actually working out how to do it all in practice is taking me a while.

Coming out on game pass on 1st August. Was very close to pulling the trigger on this the last couple of days, decided against it in the end and installed fs22 instead. Think I’ll just sit out and wait for this instead now :)

It is a secret love of mine - 4 year old likes watching, 11 year old isn’t bothered, my fiancé laughs at me. Worth it
I can’t count the number of times I’ve played early into the morning despite needing to be up early for work!

I haven't played it for a while, the patch that brought out precision farming also broke my save. Admittedly is was a mod map, with mods.......

It loaded to 99% then nothing, other maps work. I might try and fire it up soon and fingers crossed whatever it was that broke it has been patched.

Ok been playing this again.

Same map, new save, although I say new save, I am 300 hours in.

Im going to start a monthly log, mainly for my own benefit. This is for a 300 hour save, and I reckon about.... 5 in game years old.

I'll take some screenshots but i'll put them in spoilers so it doesnt completely jam up this thread.

Jan:

Well a new year, not too much to do in Jan. My goal for this year is to upgrade some of my productions, my grain mill desperately needs upgrading as I have a huge excess of wheat. And also really ramp up my milk production, although I bought some cows last month now up to 125 cows in the large barn. Basically all profits this year will go to that, and running costs, no new machinery or land is anticipated this year.

End goal is to ramp up cake production in my bakery for max profit.

Start money : £268,689

Jobs:
Cows fed TMR mix in order: Fill to 30% silage, fill to 45% wheat, fill to 70% straw, rest Hay.
Cows given straw
Chickens fed and eggs moved to storage
60k of manure moved to the biogas generator (and no way that telehandler was moving that, I had to move my JCB Fastrac 8330 down, and even that struggled!)
58k slurry moved to biogas generator
12k milk moved to diary production
Sales:
42k of bread sold @ £5,963 approx £313k total.
last months biogas income 25k

End money £582,779

And like an absolute eegit it seems I didn'y spray my Wheat, (should have been done in Oct) so I have large weeds growing in there. So all 4 wheat fields sprayed.

Seems like large weeds grew, which has taken about 10% off the yeild. That'll teach me for not checking.
