Nah, set the MSRP at $400 then sell them for 50% more.Yeah, AMD should just sell the 9070XT for $2000.
Seems to work well for some companies.

We are asking AMD for reasonable pricing
AMD have come out and said they are going after market share.their argument assumes AMD wish to gain marketshare even if that mean taking heavy looses on every GPU they sell, and its not just AMD, they have BOM costs and development costs but beyond that they have partners who also need to turn a profit, and the retailer or whats the point in even stocking them? They don't sell these things for free, AMD don't design them for free and AIB's don't make them for free, there comes a point where there is no money in it for anyone involved

Yeah and what is that? It keeps changing. What's this week's price?

We get this argument with AMD not giving away stuff for free every gen but AMDs current strategy is not making them money either. Their last quarter revenue was $563m and that includes consoles. For the year they were down by 58% on revenue and that’s on the back of an 9% drop the previous year, market share dropped to 10% so clearly the current strategy isn’t working.
AMD clearly have a big problem if they cannot make a 60ti class equivalent product which is what the 5070ti is for under $600.
A 5700XT/6700XT/7800XT all matched or beat previous gen 80 class performance for at or under $500 yet now we’re supposed to believe we need to pay much more because Nvidia decided to put up its prices, that’s not how it works when buyers already have little confidence in your brand so if AMD have any sense then they need to make gamers an offer that’s to good to refuse.

@humbug did we have a BoM for the 7800/7900 cards? TIA
Watch this then tell me you think $620 is a good price. If AMD say they start $620 and they actually do start at $620 and remain at $620 that should differentiate them from Intel and Nvidia in a good way.
It depends on performance, if the performance isn't there for what AMD need to charge to turn a profit that's AMD's problem, not ours....
Fair dos. It's just we're assuming what they do/don't take to make (yes i know there's more to it than that). I'd love for mid tier cards to go back down, all I see is prices going up and pretty much me being unable to justify my hobby any longer which is sad.Not that i'm aware of, but this multichip thing can't have been cheap, probably not as expensive as making a 610mm die on the latest most expensive node but AMD weren't charging $2000+ for their GPU's.
I think $550 max so it gets compared to the 5070.Obviously depends on performance. But have we not been saying close to 4080 performance for a few months now? Let's assume 5070 Ti performance.
How much?
What's this week's price?
What a fail, AMD can't be bothered to produce their own card.
This emotional train is so draining…. Geez what’s next msrp is fake and going to cost $800??!??What a fail, AMD can't be bothered to produce their own card.
This was known about roughly 200 pages ago?
First I’ve heard tbh and I’ve been here from page 1This was known about roughly 200 pages ago?
