OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

Registered today to try for an MSRP card. Had one in the basket for about 1-2 hours only for it to go out of stock after getting past all the 504 errors.
Thought I made it through when I got to the bank authorisation but nope, was OOS as soon as I approved the transaction.
Guess I'll hang on to my 4070 a bit longer.
Hardly seems a worthwhile update for only +50% extra performance on average. I normally wait for at least double to upgrade. From my current card it would be triple the performance.

Opened my browser around 1pm and kept an eye on it. Checked 1.57 and they were already selling so thanks a bunch Overclockers. They were down to 3 models and I put a Gigabyte gaming OC in my basket and couldnt get to the checkout. When I finally get through the 504 mess theyre OOS.

Are these gpus even that good when it comes to AI or compute compared to others (Nvidia), surely gamers aren't going to pay stupid money for these on the bay or wherever?

The less people enable these scalpers, the more we leave them with stock and the less they will keep doing this. I know people want new shiny, but I guess we have to have patience and remember these are GPUs at the end of the day.

I'm trying for a 9070xt to upgrade my 6600xt.

I was half thinking about getting a 9700XT, as it's basically the same performance as a 5070Ti; basically double the performance of my 3070 (which I got from here in a forum member voucher thing funnily enough).

Looking at this 'launch' I see OcUK are doing the old security guy at football match gif approach of trying to stop bots and scalpers. Guess I'll be waiting a few months :D

I had my mind set on holding out and avoiding all the chaos that always ensues when gfx cards are released, and I'm pretty glad I did tbh. I feel for all of you who are trying to get a mrsp card, and hope OCUK have a better soloution in the future. I'm happy that 6950xt is still running sweet at 1440p.

I don't understand who is buying a scalped 9070 xt, its good but only when its at MSRP, otherwise its just another GPU
I don't see the appeal when it's near £700, I'd prefer a 5070ti if you can by some miracle get one at £730. Admittedly that requires a miracle probably similar to getting an MSRP 9070 XT
