OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

Log into PP in a new tab before the stock goes live. Go through all the 2FA before hand and then once you click PP in the checkout its all instant, no passwords, no 2FA just click pay and done
awesome. might give that a go if more are dropping in the morning. thanks for the advice. i just followed ocuk advise to use card. i guess if everything is prepped and pp dont have any issues it should go through instant, like in your case!

Yeah you're right I have noticed that they don't respond to emails or tickets through their website I've only got stuff done with them when I phone them I'll try that tomorrow.

You should find out pretty quickly, they also have a messaging system on the forums, i've used that before if you put your order number in a thread (all private no one can read it) and they do respond there too.

I see a lot of people here complaining about new members snagging a card. Im not a first time buyer on OCuk but I am a first time poster on the forums.

I really do think you are lowering you chances by using cards that require confirmation, I used PP and from the time it said "In stock" it took me 3 clicks and it was order confirmed all within maybe 5-10 seconds maximum.

Gibbo literally said not to use PayPal as it takes 10 minutes for them to process it ....

So I followed these instructions on OcUK, bum steer?

Payment Method: Using a debit or credit card directly via the OcUK checkout is the fastest way of checking out and securing your spot in the queue. We have to wait for Amazon, PayPal, and other 3rd party payment providers to process your payment and confirm the completion before we can allocate the order, which can take at least 10 minutes for PayPal and 1 hour for finance.
Yeah this is not true (for me and many others here it seems). Just pre login to PayPal so its ready verified, 2fa etc... Then wait for the stock to drop and like I said literally 3 clicks and order confirmed within 5-10 seconds. None of that confirm with your banking app

seems to have worked well for quite a few. if your bank asks to verify on the app, its just taking too long. from that pop up to clicking ok is probably another 10 seconds. you probably have 10 seconds total to get one by the looks of things.

I ordered the 9070 XT steel legend, it was meant to be an MSRP card and the price current reflects the same as other MSRP models. But the price i paid was closer to £670. Did i get ripped off?

Genuinely considering canceling it if the card is cheaper tomorrow than what i paid today.
Me too. I’m cancelling. I’ll wait. This will be a nightmare for AMD. The price difference between the 9070xt and the 5070ti isn’t as great as it looked.

I’ve got a feeling AMD will have to drop the prices within a month or so. Especially if there is more stock.

to be fair the 9070 is still a tier C card and at mrsp is good vfm, it will be inflated in price shortly, so hopefully those who took the safe bet are still getting a positive result out of today

This is AMD not OCUK, HUB is saying that AMD rebates the retailer not the card manufacturers, and they are only rebating a set number of cards.

Sucks but thi sis all AMDs problem, i don't suspect we will see MSRP cards again until Nvidia stock normalises TBH, i mean these absolutely flew of the shelves, people are desperate for cards at the moment.
I know it is, but i don't understand why scalpers cared about what's essentially £60-160 rebates. (did you read what i wrote?)

When the rebates end there's going to be something like 2-3k units that don't have the rebates getting released so while they maybe a bit more expensive there's not going to be a shortage, so what do the scalper hope to achieve when people will be able to buy thousands of slightly more expensive cards in a few days.

From a business owner perspective when I get orders from customers via PayPal while it shows as paid on the customers end it often shows pending on our side can take anywhere from a few mins to a couple of hours to process I’m assuming OcUK have the same issue?

Id rather they just honor the originally advertised price instead of needing to cancel. Ive submitted an official ticket but ive been warned it may be up to 10 days for a reply and ill have the card by then.
They wont honor the price because the price isnt a mistake. Only a limited number of each card was available at MSRP, after that the price went up. The version you bought only had 10 available at MSRP I believe.

they are hoping for a quick buck. i watched a couple local to me on ebay and have already slashed their ott prices by 10-20% in a few hours

Oh i'm hoping they get screwed hard, I really hope AMD have good supply and can flood the market, even at 630 they will sell out, and yes you're right the scalpers will be done over, but we kinda need them to fall on a sword and punish them.

Hopefully we get regular updates from AMD, retailers on stock supply too, if they are transparent it will hopefully ward off the scalpers too.

I do find it funny though, they are scalping MSRP cards for 700+ when you can buy a better XT model at a similar price and they stay in stock a lot longer.

I also unfortunately ended up picking up a steel legend for £657.98 instead of MSRP I'm not sure what to do, conflicted I need a gpu it's an upgrade and do I faff around cancelling, waiting potentially weeks for another card at MSRP which is a big if, likely won't happen, does suck but I'm likely to just stick with it. Been a long day scouring all the sites to pick a 9070xt up lol
