OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

My 3090 FTW3 is dying so I need a card to replace and £569 seems a fair price for a card that will perform better for most games (albeit with admittedly less VRAM which is shame) had I managed to snag one.
According to tech power up, this card is only 12% faster than a 3090 which was released 4.5 years ago.

This isn’t an upgrade.

it’s only 21% faster than my 3080 which I paid £650 for which is basically the going rate for a nonMSRP card.

To re-iterate, 21% performance uplift for the same cash price I paid for a 3080 4.5 years ago.

Please stop foaming over this, it’s not a good value.

The fact I could still sell my 3080 for good money at this point is insane.

I don't think my post came across as foaming at all? Basically stated my 3090 is on its way out so after similar if not better performance at imo a reasonable price point with 16GB VRAM.

I can definitely see used prices continuing to go up though if the supply of cards is like this with scalpers hoovering up the majority of stock...even CEX have raised their buy prices on a lot of the older gen of cards in the past couple of weeks.

Morning @Gibbo

I see the price on the Nitro XT has increased slightly now. Does that mean everyone who secured a pre order price of £699 will get a card from the first batch due next week?

Seriously in people's hope just to see NVIDIA take a beating they are over hypering a card that's literally not much better than stuff that came out 4 years ago for around the same price and thinking it's a win. Add the fake MSRP, I'm actually thankful I cancelled the order for the one I got once sense invaded my brain. I'll just wait and see what's happens in a few months.

Indeed.

It's really only worth it at £569.

I have no idea why people are excited to spend £700-£800 on one, even if it has a fancy cooler. This level of performance was obtainable for that price point last year.
For me it was more just voting with my wallet I've been on team green since I had my gigabyte 680s and looking back at my orders from 680 to 980 to 2080 super the price jumps are just horrific!

There was a link above with requirements, if your account was new it had to have certain amount of comments same for old account. I think that's why it didn't show for me, I read the posts so haven't interacted here, as you can see from my account, it took one card launch to make me do it ahah
Thanks for the reply but I meet the requirements and have used the free delivery for forum members on previous orders.
Had the same happen to me, so put in a ticket asking for a refund on the shipping fee :)
Thanks, I have sent a message from the order page so will see what happens.

I thought the average was more than that (Against a 3080), If that is the case, Glad I never got one for 'MSRP' now. I'll wait for something better.

I think another thing we have to wait for is for the scalpers to hopefully realise they can't make much money from these.

If stock eventually grows at retailers, even at £629 then scalping the MSRP ones will be pointless.

That should decrease demand massively too as I think lots of chancers just read "new GPU release" and think they can make a quick buck.

Became increasingly frustrated yesterday with the site issuing 50# errors like sweeties for two hours from 14:00 - then gave up for a bit. Managed to approve CC payment just after 17:00 and 22:00 three times in total only to get the "Out of stock" message.

It's very annoying. The shop should have a basket reserve system. At least then you don't have to waste time rushing through the checkout to no avail.

At £630 I’m not attracted even when stick returns.

9070 XT MSRP $600 in GBP (with vat added) = £557

5070TI MSRP $750 in GBP (with vat added) = £698

THE AMD products are £630. The Nvidia products are £730. Massive markup. Not OCs fault but it’s there.

Sadly, even at £629, the bots will descend on each drop like a plague of locusts.

Part of my frustration with the CC approval process is that we have two cards on the same account so the 2FA system has to ask which card holder to seek approval from, adding a short step in the process. Arguably "self-inflicted" but I'm not about to disable 2FA on a credit card with the limit that this one has....

Fingers crossed we get some hint when the cards will go on sale today, as from my understanding the new price sales will start at some point today as the MSRP cards were sold yesterday. I wonder if more allocations were given out for more MSRP cards during the night with AMD stating they want to get as many cards out at the MSRP price as they can, Wish they would just push them out now :(

It's possible more rebates come.

Gibbo apparently convinced ASrock to do 10 more last night.

Probably unlikely today considering the current demand, but I'm sure they will return when it slows down and cards start to sit in warehouses.

Same, I'm not interested now the price has gone up. I'll wait for discounts in the future or next gen maybe.
