I don't believe you're more likely to get better silicon quality with an ASUS variant compared to any other manufacturer's variant—it's all just a matter of luck.

Nop, my brother's 7900xtx clocks slightly higher than mine. Same card. Just how it is. Unless you're going for a 3Dmark number it's not an issue.
 
it's so disheartening seeing listings for scalped cards with generic pics shortly after they sold out. Last time i bought a gpu was before covid so i guess this is the new normal.

Thank you. For some unknown reason it does not appear my firefox. Cannot figure out what addon is stopping it from working. It appears on Edge though.

It's still considered a lower tier compared to strix, astral etc. It's basically their entry level card at this point. A more minimalist design compared to the others. And definitely not worth £800.

Has anyone seen Derbauers video on the red devil? It looks like the LED plate that blocks the pass through cooling area can be unscrewed? Maybe removing that could help performance like half a % but could be a fun test!
 
The TUF is a poor choice IMO. Way over priced.

VRM components are pretty much the same between cards. As I've been looking mainly at XT PCBs, only the 2x8pin models have 2 phases missing, which doesn't seem like a big issue. Cards are basically tiered by their VBIOS for power limit, cooler, etc.

try their warranty services...you will see how great the Asus is.
Evga was charging a bit more (and that was backed up by a proper engineering.and only for better models) but at least you could see why you paid the premium... and if anything went wrong, you weren't alone, they would sort it out. Now, I would chose Zotac over Asus, anytime. To me, Asus is the worst aib, ever.
Miss Evga so much but no-one can fight with leather jacket's vision, so they had no choice but to go down.

Sorry for the late reply. Havn't had much time to test further but in Assassins Creed Odyssey was getting fps in the low 90's with CPU at 100% but GPU was only around 80% using less than a 100 watts. Edit: Should have mentioned my res. is UW 1440p.

Depends on the cards you compare. The basic models have 12 phase and the higher end ones, like the Nitro, have 16 phases. So they are actually 4 phases short. Not sure how many of the other higher models have 16.
Sapphire range goes:
Pulse: 12 phases
Pure: 14 Phases
Nitro: 16 Phases
 
My Sapphire Pulse 9070 XT not only arrived safe and sound yesterday, it had Haribo inside (that didn't last very long at all!) - the card is slightly bigger than the Sapphire Pulse 7900XT is has replaced, has bigger diameter fans, and is lighter.
