The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

1.) Power Color
2.) XT
3.) Reaper
4.) 11/03/25

Decided to bodge some water cooling on my card today. If any one is interested, I've taken some pictures of the PCB for the Reaper, and my questionable attempt at hybrid air/water cooling my card:

When taking it apart, I did notice that the memory thermal pads don't seem like they are getting squished against the stock cooler, might explain why this model seems to run a couple of degrees warmer than others. Some thermal putty would probably be a good swap to improve performance a bit.

Crazy how “naked” GPUs look with none of the casing and covers on…..!

Impressive, but how are you keeping the temps so low! My Aorus Elite hits 62 to 63 degrees at stock settings, hell even Time Spy Extreme with locked 100% fan speed is averaging 50 degrees at stock, tempted to return it as it feels a bit too warm for such an expensive 9070 XT Variant

Time Spy Extreme (Stock everything except Aorus Elite is locked at 100% Fan speed)

While I'm at it:

1.) Gigabyte
2.) XT
3.) Aorus Elite

Just installed new 9070XT and having a problem with displayed graphics.
After installation everything is kinda too bright, letters are "glowing" with white glow around, like too contrasty.
Tried so many things, nothing helps.
Previous card was nvidia, which was fine when worked just before installation.

I think it's just the smaller heatsink and fans, if I speed the fans up the temps come down. You can see where the screw holes are how much the pads are squished.

Did you get a shot of the VRM chips themselves?

Did you use DDU to remove the previous Nvidia drivers?

This deserves it's own thread!

Nice compact build. You can set power limit to -20%, OC VRAM to 2700 and an undervolt of -.75 (if stable). That will get you stock speed at about 240w power.

Then all you need is a new rig because that one is hideous ;)

Enjoy the new GPU.

One week after release and the latest Mesa update has fixed a number of issues for me under Linux in what I play/use. That's really good going compared to the past.

Just as well, as Windows was really irritating the hell out of me (updating behind my back when I'd told it not too and resetting settings I'd previously changed). Just need the tuning tools to catch up (LACT etc), as they're still limited atm.

I think the delayed release and easier availability has really helped Linux support this time round.

My Sapphire 9070 xt pure is on its way from OCUK woohoo.
Just wanted to know, is the support bracket that comes with the card, enough support?
