Solar panel production figures

My monthly target is 1011 and we should pass that tomorrow.

SolarEdge: 7.8 kWh
Garage: 9.05 kWh
North west roof: 10.14 kWh
House rear wall: 3.09 kWh
Peak power was 7.40 kW at 14:32

Total generated yesterday: 30.08 kWh
Total exported yesterday: 38.2 kWh
Total imported yesterday: 29.77 kWh

My target for March was 763kWh, I'm now on 800kWh with a week to go. Based on the average for the month so far I am still (just!) on track to hit 1MWh but the weather forecast for the week is looking pretty miserable. I think realistically I'm going to end up somewhere above 900kWh but below the 1MWh mark.

I did some rough calculations. Should be able to fit 40 or so panels on my house and outbuildings.

Is there a limit on how many Kilowatts a house can have?

1MWh in March sounds awesome :D

There's no limit to how many panels you can have but there likely will be a limit placed on you by your DNO. 40 panels will be in the 18kWp sort of ballpark and unless you're the only house for miles around your DNO is very likely to cap you on export. I am export limited to 5kW for example. You'll then want big batteries to store your generation and export it over time according to whatever your limit is which will drive up your system cost quite a bit.

Best taking this conversation to the other thread to keep this one about production figures as intended :)

5kW.. I would not bother if that is the case. Not with outbuildings anyway.

Had a look around and what is granted changes from DNO to DNO and also your area.

I have 40+ houses my street and only one other house has solar panels. They only have like 6 old looking panels.

Looking a few streets nearby I can't see anyone else with solar panels. So that is like 200 houses or something. That hopefully bodes well for me.

What I am wondering is, can one apply for a G99 (I assume this is the correct one) a few years before ready for install or must work commence within a certain period of time? I only ask because between now and then more people may apply and that could reduce what they offer me.

Finally could this have impact on FIT if not careful? Should be fine if I don't touch current panels and inverter i would imagine?

260w at 1pm. Dire!

Yeah pretty rough today:

My G99 says 6kW export (not that I have ever achieved that - with my system that would exporting as much as I can peak generate - never going to happen!).

Shame for your system being so large - but I guess they put 6kW for me as it's basically impossible for me to achieve it but gives some wiggle room should I get more panels? Not many people in my village/town with solar, so I guess I'm lucky.

The DNO assessed the local grid when your installer applied to fit a 6kW inverter and decided that it could cope with 6kW, therefore that's what they have given you, any less and it would either be a smaller inverter or G100 export limitation.

If your inverter can handle more panels, then yes you can add more and don't need to inform the DNO.

If you wanted to add another inverter then you'd need to apply to increase your G99 limit.

PS if you have batteries you could quite easily export 6kW.
