The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

Lovely write up! I agree that the power usage is key for me too.
But not in winter time; I find something very cosy about the computer keeping my feet nice and warm during winter so I will be sticking with -100mv +10%
In summer time, on the other hand, i will be probably going the other way, and cranking that baby down to -100Mv -10%
Aye I hear you, I'm a stingy beggar though, could be a millionaire and still take a week deliberating over whether to buy something for £20 xD

Gonna be useful in the Summer for sure, biggest benefit is the hotspot to gpu delta coming down a whole 10 degrees

who games at 60fps, it feels like walking in sand

Many people do, please don’t assume your preference applies to everyone. I used 60 FPS cap as a controlled example to demonstrate a scientific principle. If you read the rest of my post you will see far more context to my point regarding efficiency, even at 100% GPU usage.

I agree that with the same settings the frame cap and equivalent power limit will use the same power.

So what's the advantage of setting a power limit over a frame limit?

I edited the post to add where the advantages are of tuning for efficiency. This cannot be understated for people who prefer cooler and quieter running PCs that still give good performance.

Like I said, it’s about what suits your individual preferences.

Was a bit concerned as to why my previous posts numbers were in the 27000-28000 range, reinstalled drivers and updated bios, the works. I'd been a dunce and failed to notice I'd set fps limit in Adrenalin to 179 . So here's the update, Cyberpunk figures didn't change just Timespy, will get round to Steel Nomad tomorrow possibly:

Have you changed VRAM to fast timings and set to 2700/2760 to see if you can eak more out of the power limit with UV option?
May have an adverse effect on the GPU core frequency due to increased power usage, but worth a try if not done already.

maybe i have a golden sample.. but I've seen a few on here doing 32000+ gpu score with the 7090xt
I got 33300, but that was with -175mV, which is only stable in a very limited number of games. Not sure what my -95mV, game stable config gets, I'll check later.
You do have a ridiculously good 9070 example though!

11 times out of 10 i get the poo end of the stick when it comes to overclocking so i had to due one

I have a 9070 installed in my system (see spec in sig. Waiting for X3D cpu and 1440p monitor) and any game I play never maxes out the gpu or cpu. In most games I'm getting around 50% gpu usage and around 30% cpu usage. Is this normal because of low resolution and not great cpu? GPU usage only maxes out in 3dMark

max out all setting and see how you get on? what res are you at 1080?

yes 1080 at the moment. Everything on max settings. Have tried Cyberpunk and Witcher 3

EDIT: Also not getting full core speed hovers around 1500 to 1800. Its 3100 in 3dmark

Looks like my Pulse should be delivered on Tuesday. They were in stock elsewhere.
Not sure if I should hold onto the Nitro+ or just cancel it now.
What differences between the two in UV/OC, is it a drastic difference?

its a strange one, normally if you have a CPU bottle neck you would expect to see the CPU at 100%ish
the low clock speeds on the GPU is just because it dosent need to boost.

is bios upto date and did you do a full driver reinstall when you first got it,

Don’t look at the average cpu usage. You need to look at individual cores. Sounds like you have vsync on
