New cl26 DDR5 RAM for Ryzen coming in January.

What happens when Zen 6 arrives and if they increase the fabric speed to 6400/6800/7000mhz etc.. wont they make these cl26 kits now abit outdated?

I guess a cl26 kit would proberly do 6400mhz @ cl26 though.

thats how it goes with RAM

Yes, of course, that's how IT innovations work. Old tech becomes obsolete not matter how good it is.

I'm sure that DDR5 will be obsolete with Zen 5 million and so don't buy a kit and hold out for then and only buy DDR8x, not DDR8 because 8x will be better.

sooooooooooo speculative.

What's more likely is they'll just rebadge them and give them a new profile, because they're binned better than most 7000-8000+ kits that already exist.

This is indeed just how this industry works. You can buy something day 1 and it will be outdated in 6-12 months as the refresh or new generation comes along.

I used to love to buying outdated flagships. Half the price for 70-80% of the performance. Not anymore, sadly.

EXPO timings below if anyone feels like trying on their DR kits.

Whats your latency on these? On Aida64 latency tester mine runs around 66ns which i find abit high tbh compared to my old intel setup which was sub 50ns.

74.1 ns on Expo but I've got a lot of crap installed and background processes running.
I need to try my Win10 barebones benching OS but it's currently on my intel system.

Think Ryzen has higher latency in general on Aida. Could get sub 50's Z790.
Saying that not sure how relevant Aida bench is on AM5. Thinks like legacy mode reduce/increase latency but increase FPS in actual games.

So i have the CL28 and CL26 kits as samples and my Gigabyte X870I board couldn't run either of these. Switched to the Asus X870i board and bam it runs both flawlessly. The CL28 kit can be pushed too!

Do you mean x870e? I have the Asrock x870e tachi lite and with all the 9800x3d chips dying I feel lucky to be at expo on my gskill cl 30 64Gb kit. I think its more common on the x870e nova motherboard though.

No these are both ITX boards.

I haven’t touched Asrock since i have direct contact with their HQ in Taiwan. They are still figuring things out.

Did manual tweaking help on the Gigabyte board ?

Unfortunately not, manual tweaking made it worse if anything. OCCT would error out after 10 seconds.

I've banged Buildzoids timings into the CL28 kit with some adjustments for testing and it's passed OCCT 1 memory hour test.

Could you link Buildzoid’s timings by any chance? I’m waiting for OCUK to get the CL26 kit in and hopefully this will bring a little more performance from stock.

His timings on my CL28 kit

Im running exactly this with my Hynix A Die Acer Predator (BIWIN) CL30 6000Mhz kit - Currently tuned to CL28 6000Mhz with a nice bump in performance and it feels nicer. :)
Also using ASRock X870 Nova Board and trying not to adjust anything CPU (9950X3d) side for a while until I know its stable.

Im currently seeing if i can CL26 on this kit with a slight voltage bump.

If not i’ll bump the Transfer rate instead

Its pretty darn good! Very snappy at these timings.
