a gaming chair which would you go out and buy?

i need a new chair, currently have a gaming chair which has seen better days and am looking for something new not too fussy about ergonomics.
The main issue for me is actually been able to try before i buy.

so whats out there that is decent lets put a max price of £300

Stay away from gaming chairs unless they're from an established brand in the office chair space, like the Herman Miller Embody they did in partnership with Logitech.

As above, proper task/operator office chair.
If I absolutely *HAD* to buy a gaming chair, I'd beat up whoever was making me, steal their money and go buy a proper office chair.

You're more likely to find office chairs available to try pre-purchase, anyway.

I got this exact one too, I weigh 70kg and mine is now rotten after a couple years, it's held together with leather patches.
Hugely let down by the product and would not recommend anyone to get one.

What's a "gaming chair"?

I bought my wife a Sihoo chair late last year for £200ish I think it was, so far been very happy with, previously she had been having lower back issues but this certainly seems to have helped massively with that, partially tempted to upgrade my current refurb orangebox do task chair I've now had for 5+ years with one, had originally planned on a refurb herman miller but for potentially half the price and still well thought of (that I could see at the time at least) thought why not try it.

Not sure what's happened to yours then, but I've got 2 in our house, one bought in 2020, the other in 2021. Both in daily use by teenage kids who are hardly careful with them, and they still look almost new.

As per every other spec me a chair thread - it's completely subjective, not every chair will suit everyone, whether gaming, office, ergonomic or otherwise.
If you can then try before you buy, but if not find somewhere with a good no quibble returns policy.

Yeah I bought mine in 2020 I believe, daily use through covid, cracks started to form in the PU leather probably around 2023 and now its at such as state that its covered in patches.

Attached is a picture of a hero, the red lines indicates where large cracks have formed and what is now covered by leather patches.

Boils down to whether you want a chair with traditional foam pad seat that will eventually flatten to nothing or one with mesh seat that won't, and go from there.

Love my Noblechairs Epic TX.
As does the wife, who uses it on the 3 days she works from home.
The Fabric makes a huge difference IMO.

Expensive, but I would buy another without hesitation.

I think you have hit the nail on the head there, the more i think about it the more i want to go mesh.
looking at
sihoo s100 m57 and doro c300 for now

Herman millers are out of my price range, sadly
