It’s funny that the Merc looks decent after Hamilton left. The Ferrari is not far behind TBF.

yuki did well with that car, and it isn't looking good for lawson's qualifying. In Aus quali lawson got 18th, Yuki was 5th, China lawson was 20th with yuki 9th. swap cars and yuki gets 15th with lawson only managing 14th.

I read it was because he couldnt handle the car without it. Either way in my opinion it shows the issues RB have with their car and 2nd driver.

As an adopted kiwi I am happy that Lawson out qualified yuki.

Well that’s pretty much confirms what I already thought - the RB isn’t great (but not as bad as we all make out, has slipped behind in development clearly) but the 2nd drivers really are just not that great and Max really is just that good.

Hopefully Yuki improves in the race and with time, I do think he’s the best option for 2nd driver. If he can see out the learning period, he has a chance. Regardless, I’ll always be disappointed we didn’t get to see Sainz in the same car as Max. Would have bern exciting.
