*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

OCUK had hundreds every time there was a drop.

Elsewhere there was a load of stock at £619 that took a few days to sell through.

Supply seems okay but bit sporadic. Can’t buy one for a decent price off the shelf as in the past.

Very few SKUs are dropping though compared to nvidia. I think they are losing share right now.

One place has had literally hundreds of drops in the past week at rrp - not rebate rrp obviously. And my xt nitro arrives tomorrow!! Had said it was due 12-15 May...

But hundreds of cards of different nvidia SKUs drop every week. The rainforest drop was after they also sold 500+ 5070 Ti cards at MSRP and 100+ 5080 cards at MSRP.

This website alone drops loads of cards. Just yesterday we saw MSRP 5070 Ti and 5080 cards come and sell out. There have been two drops of below MSRP 5070 cards as well which came and sold out.

Then there is nvidia's partner supplier who also regularly drop cards.

AMD really need to start manufacturing more and get different websites with hundreds of cards.

I believe Gibbo stated they sold around 5000 units on day one of the 9070XT/9070.

All I know, is I have hot stock alerts for the 9070xt and I've had dozens of alerts every day for the past couple of weeks for the rainforest.

Nitros not an RRP card though. Pulse is. And like a said dozens of drops every day. Let's say Nitro at non-scalped price

Where are you seeing Pulse drops at MSRP dozens of times a day?

At most you are seeing people's cancelled orders at the rainforest releasing a card at a time at £620, £50 above MSRP.

According to your numbers and 5070Ti sales calculations, there must be thousands of 5070ti owners now that AMD collapsed Nv's 70Ti pp down from £1000+ for a 5070ti?

If your opinion is correct, if you start a 5070ti owners thread it should eclipse the 9070 owners thread in a matter of days...

Ultimately we will see when the steam hardware survey comes out for April and May. Apart from the initial stockpiling, The amount of 9070 and 9070 XT stock appearing in numbers at MSRP is lagging nvidia for their combined 5070/5070Ti numbers.

All 5070 Ti stock sells out within hours at MSRP. At least they are showing up. There are definitely thousands of 5070 Ti owners if not tens of thousands in the UK.

AMD took a massive lead at launch, but have had poor supply since. I can understand that they probably didnt reserve supply capacity to try and take anything more than 20% of the market, as it would be a massive risk to try and take 50%.

So you went from “let’s wait for the March and April steam survey”… to Nvidia are winning.

OK then… moving on.

Most here don’t care about the steam survey, we care about launch prices and what you get for your money. AMD delivered better value GPUs this round, they reviewed better and give better price perf.

Nvidia 5000 launch was roundly laughed at and was/is stunningly terrible.

AMD 9000 launch has been far more well received. Nobody here needs a steam survey to see that’s 100% accurate. Whether this means AMD take market share is another thing, but it certainly improved their mind share.

Who said nvidia are winning? This isn't a game.

Nvidia are shipping more cards right now. It is obvious if you track the large shipments that sell out, and AMD need to try harder or they will lose all momentum.

Steam hardware survey ultimately is a measure of market share. I assume people here care about AMD actually becoming relevant. I sure do, and they need to ship cards in greater numbers to achieve that. Otherwise this wiil be RDNA2 and RDNA3 all over again, where people wanted to buy their cards, but they were making hardly any of them whilst demand was high.

Well it doesn't surprise me how stupid some people are tbh. The cards have been out a month, and the supply chain cannot replenish until there is an excess past the demand, and given the almost 100% positive praise it (the 9070 series) has had globally it's even harder to hit that excess supply. If Nvidia did the sensible thing and launched the 5080 Ti 24GB at £999 next month, and dropped the 5070 Ti to £599 then more people could buy them, shame the cheapest one is £799 still and a total rip off.

That isn't how supply works. Companies don't stockpile and then drop them all once a month.

I think people here are in for a large shock when things like the hardware survey comes out or the JPR numbers.

What large shipments are you tracking then? Care to share anything..

I can't post competitors. But overclockers dropped Zotac 5070 Ti and 5080 cards at MSRP 2 days ago. That is one of many. All sold out within hours.

This is occurring across the retail space every couple of days.

The higher priced cards are also selling if you check available stock. I think this forum has turned into a sort of echo chamber.

A competitor even publishes their drops.

Reality would be more like launch a cut down 24GB 5090 called 5080, rename the current 5080 as the 5070ti, the 5070ti becomes the 5070 and the 5070 becomes the 5060. But then Nvidia would need to rebate loads of customers and retailers.

AMD would then be forced to sell the 9070 and 9070 XT at £400 and £475.

We can dream.
