Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

I work for one of the UK's biggest banks in the fintech divison and all the company video screens background has changed from our company colour to red...
getting mixed messages as they are saying not to panic yet they are red! lol
 
Genuinely amazed people were buying today. What is the forthcoming good news people were expecting?
Of course people are buying… when you sell your shares, it needs someone to buy them, just depends on what price..

Most retail money won’t even move the needle, it will be pension funds, mutual funds etc.
 
As someone who has never invested in the stock market; isn’t now a good time to invest, given that so much has been wiped off the value of so many big companies? I understand it’s always a gamble but surely betting while the value is low means you reap the rewards when/if they recover?

It's still very high, the trade war is in its early days (just my opinion).
