He did! Full lowdown to follow in the coming days but for now:

- It was delivered via courier without any outer packaging… heavy duty shipping label slapped over the front of the box! So the box arrived tatty and torn - what were they thinking!!

- It is a beautiful, beautiful card (the default RGB is super tasteful).

- Slightly smaller than the Suprim but heavier. Amazing build quality.

- Doesn’t have the same maddening ‘loud whine when browsing’ as the Suprim.

- Does have some whine - figuring out if I can deal with it!

I figure this is probably a rare / interesting sight so here you go!

Did you order it from the take away shop? My 5090 order was delivered in a dpd bag likely due to box is so big.

Apart from coil whine, how about the fan noise and temperatures compare to suprim?

I missed the astral that dropped via the Indian takeaway place. It didn't ping on Hotstock at all but was listed via discord which is annoying because Hotstock notifications always come through if it finds stuff but discord is hit and miss at best

It's 10db louder than the 4090fe. (40 vs 30).

I wonder how they got to this figure, because from owning both I know it's louder, but not by much at all. Barely noticeable.

I guess if they test them by maxing the fan speeds they could come to this conclusion, but no matter what I throw at it the fans never ramp that high, just like they never ramped to 100% on the 4090FE.
During actual gameplay it's not a loud card. Reviews don't always give a realistic gaming scenario, but in a worst case scenario I guess it's possible.

Nice! A mere £420 less than the OCUK price too...
Really wish that OCUK would start competing on price as I would rather buy from here than from some of the places that are not PC component specialists and where you sometimes hear that parts turn up damaged (poor packing) or that you might end up with a box containing a 2080 with a 5090 fan attached or something similar.
