NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

Drop the power limit to 90 for a start and you should see a decrease in temps and that is without any undervolt.

Mine sits at mid 60s with power limit at 90 and no undervolt, you wont notice any performance loss.

Why? It takes 15minutes to learn how to undervolt, copy someone else's settings, run a becnhmark or two. Guaranteed stock or better performance for 90% or less power.

Im still on the market for mine. Lookiing for a good middle of the road one. Or depending on the dif. might consider the Aorus Master even tho people complain about the fans. But the temps look really good and noise wise aswell.

Any tips on buying thru OC? I never bought under this conditions. Ive set alarms and notifications and all and nothing seems to work.
Any speciific time to check on the website?
Keep an eye on this thread. Gibbo usually gives a heads up when new 5090s are being listed so you can be ready to go.

@Gibbo has been giving this thread a heads up on stock recently. You can 'watch' the thread and keep an eye on it as other members will also post a heads up.
Good stock most days recently, if you check regularly.

Crikey not even had chance to put my Suprim build together yet, Lian Li pushed back the wireless Inf fans to May from March. The Wired ones are in stock, might just pull trigger on those

edit: nvm theyre out of stock again haha! (reverse)

this thread is normally a good source of when cards are in stock. Sometimes in the morning and between 2-4pm

What if they move the release date again in May? I would say just go ahead and buy the wired ones. You can cable manage it to the point where hardly any wires are visible. If you keep waiting, the return window for all your components will expire and you may be stuck with a defective part.

Since we will have almost the same set up, here's an idea of what your set up will look like with half decent cable management.

OK, so - a couple of pages or so back mentioned that I'd managed to buy a Vanguard 5090 from a retailer with notoriously bad customer service. Well, true to form, that very retailer has emailed me this morning - "We ran into a problem with processing your order", and the pending payment has dissappeared from my bank. No idea what the problem is or was, the card is still in stock and for sale on their website, and this is the second time this has happened when Ive tried to buy one (happened with a greek named high street retailer too). Could it be that god himself doesnt want me to have a 5090?

A depressing morning stat for you all. The rip off Astral LC is 70% more than than the 5090 FE. No wonder it is still in stock.

I predict with the 6090 we will see an AIB card that is 100% more than the 6090 FE.
Anyone ok to pay this premium is making a purely emotional decision vs looking at things objectively at this point.

Shush you, don't put ideas into their heads ;).
You can however actually buy that card today from OCs and for £100 less than some tube I know did a few weeks ago....
'One' of my original strategies was an FE with an EK waterblock and mount the FE cooler on the wall. Probably get my money back ish later as well. But getting your hands on a MSRP FE...
I 'll just need to put up with this thing of beauty, the build quality, the coolness, the quietness and performance. Hey ho...

Did they sort the PCIe 5 issues in the end? With the FE?

On this, I managed to snag an FE from the last drop almost a month back, pure luck sitting on my PC working and a notification for a 5090 for the reduced MSRP. I thought surely this is a bug, no 5090 is priced as such (was not aware Nvidia reduced the price at the time). Got to the buy screen and could not believe my luck. Went to check out and I even had time to wait and get my Amex code to complete the purchase. When the card arrived, box stated I was 124 out of 144. Pic attached. Either all the bots bought the ones before and they only snagged up to a 100 or so, or perhaps there were a genuine 144 of us that got lucky with this drop. Judging from the auction place, most get scalped unfortunately.

Also seems from manufacture to getting to UK shores takes about a month +/-

Very jealous. Despite its flaws, i'd buy the FE in a heartbeat. It's a complete unicorn this gen though, so i've mentally put it to one side :D I think Nvidia really overdid it with the cooler. Too expensive and too compromised, so they don't make any money on it, and so just sell the die and memory modules to AIB partners instead.

Didn't realise there were any, maybe @Zigwig knows?
I use a PCIe 5 riser cable that has been fine.
I can get back to you on this in 2 weeks, as I have been travelling extensively for work and also in the middle of a house move, so held off on putting my build together (this required more patience than dealing with my 2 year old). It will however be a fresh build with a new SSD and with n Asrock x870e Nova that will have a BIOS flashback to latest BIOS. That could be a factor in how the system behaves and the functionality of PCIe 5.0, or it could purely be the garbage Nvidia drivers, which btw BSOD'd the living daylights out of my 4090 gaming laptop.

Gorgeous card, not sure I even want to ever waterblock it. As a gamer card, if well undervolted and stable, will go well above the task of targeting 120 fps on a 4k 240hz monitor.
