The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

Does anyone know if there is a way to confirm FSR 4 is enabled without the "Full" driver version? It says to use the in-game overlay but there isn't one on the "Minimal" / "Default" installs.

I managed to break 34k Timespy score by upping the VRAM slightly. Obviously not game stable. My Best 7900 XTX score was 31670, I was so so close.

You don’t need an overlay to see that upscaling is FSR 4 because FSR 3 will show the usual artifacts.

Yeah it apprantly depends on the batch as the newer batches will almost certainly have the samsung GDDR6 *on the higher end models* so the only way to truly make sure you get the better VRAM is to wait until the stock of 9070XT's has been refreshed once or twice to get the Hynix stuff out of circulation

Well looking at the current pricing that won't be a difficult decision to wait ;)

I've read an article stating that they are looking to change the VRAM chips on the 9070 series to Samsung from SK Hynix due to better thermal management in them.
Yes, this is to help areas where the ambient temps are way higher than here and they are having issues with cooling.
Don't think we have an issue in the UK of the VRAM hitting its 108 degree limit haha.
Looks like they are keeping Hynix for lower tier cards which suggests it costs more.

I wonder if they'll overclock better or worse.

Got my dispatch email for my 9070 XT pulse this morning not from here unfortunately though. Also need to try and rearrange delivery to the weekend as I'll be at work. Lots of stock must be dropping though as my original estimated delivery was the end of May but was willing to wait as the price was closest to MSRP I had seen since release day.

But annoying, feels like this should've been done for release. So now when AMD release a product you have to weigh up if they might release a new version shortly after release with revised components, no doubt letting resale value off the original.

It depends really, The new components could work out less favourable to the original. Time will tell.

What price did you get it for mate?

My vram temps under load don’t ever exceed 80C with an UV and OC.

I’m sure I have SK Hynix vram in my pulse 9070xt…..

Not sure why some models do and some don’t?

£620 so not great but not terrible either imo. And less than the £650 I paid for my 3080 4 years ago which is always nice to get an upgrade in performance for similar money which seems to be getting harder and harder to achieve.

That’s a good price, same as me but I had some vouchers and a small discount for delayed delivery thrown in too… enjoy mate! Let me know what UV and OC works for you!?

My settings (game stable) and get Steel Nomad score of 74fps 7445 are:

+600 core offset
-80mv voltage offset
Vram fast timings 2744mhz

PL +10%
Fans on a curve with zero rpm turned off

On timespy extreme I get 98fps short of what tech power up achieved in their overclock (100fps).

Might be due to my cpu which is a bit bottlenecking (5800x3D) and ddr4 4000mhz ram.

Usually get 3.1-3.3ghz on gpu core clocks in games with those settings.
