Mountain Biking

Druid CorE would get my vote over the Unno - if that Forbidden rides anything like the regular Druid, it will be punching well above its stated weight category and their geo will be very well tailored to the platform.

Unno looks nice (although the carbon layup is not in the same league as something like Hope's HB916, at least from what we've seen thus far) but the lack of cable-routing for a rear mech and the speed sensor being built-in to the rear disc seem like odd choices.
I currently ride a Druid, so Druid Core would seem a natural upgrade, but it does look a bit bulky in profile!

That's an E bike though isn't it? Specifically wondering about anyone with a mountain bike, see if they miss the torque.
I went 160 from 170 and noticed my gear choice of 6 dropping to 5 on slight inclines. It made the bike feel heavier BUT slightly more agile because there was less striking on roots and rocks. I like it and I dont. On the park bike I have 160 as I dont pedal up hill so if you are lazy like me then go for it :D

That's the thing I do like hills. Going from my current 165mm to 155mm would be paired with also going from a 30t to a 28t.

It is and it may sound odd being assisted, but i did notice the drop in torque and I use more of the larger cogs on the cassette now and spin more

Any of you experienced 155mm cranks on your mountain bikes?
Had a bike with 155mm Hope's on as a loaner for a week, couldn't get on with them - felt too 'spinny' for me, but I think that will come down to personal preference and leg length.

Yes, you can go down to a 28T chainring... but not every bike likes that and in some cases it can affect your suspension characteristics.

V1 or V2?

I agree that the packaging around the motor could be a little cleaner and the Mith looks far more svelte in that regard, but I think the downtube is nicely in-line with their other models.

Rob's 'Preview' of the Unno Mith : This thing is just amazing: the visible carbon weave in the frame, the low weight, the high power & torque, the large battery, and the price is not crazy either.
Seems like this is shaking up the eBike market in the same way the iPhone did to the mobile phone sector in 2007.

We get you are nursing a semi over the Mith, but you are being somewhat hyperbolic with your statements here.

Until someone trusted has ridden the damn thing, it’s just a flashy package for a motor unit that you can get in cheaper bikes. Unno don’t exactly have a stellar track record of putting riding performance first either, despite Cesar ‘s pedigree.

It looks really pretty, but I’m not queuing up to **** the thing like you seem to be :D

The circumference of 165cm is circa 1.04m. The circumference of 155cm is 0.97m so all in around 6 to 6.5% less leg range or around 8% more effort for the same work. You would see around 8% reduced effort going from 30T to 27.6T (28T) so it would counter and work out about right.

Went for a play at the local today with a new action cam. Pretty impressed with the footage straight off the camera.

I have a slight clicking noise when I pedal, you can kinda hear it in the video. Think I need to tighten the cranks up or something. Anyone know the torque settings for the gen 5 cube cranks?

Check the motor bolts first. Second, check that there isn’t a plastic dirt shield still installed as they can creak and squeal, this sits between the crank and the bearing and is like a packaging item. Lastly, check the bolts in the rear triangle and the shock as they may have worked slightly loose.

I took my son to Bike Park Wales last Thursday and we loved it so much we went back again on Sunday.
There is such an amazing variety of trails there. We have e-bikes so pedalled up - we did 7 full top to bottom runs, which was around 1,800 meters of climbing and 32 miles each day. Ending the days with 1% and 5% battery left. They have on site battery charging but our legs and arms had done enough

Probably doing another trip next weekend too :)

Anyone else get the cryptic email from Bosch? I see power updates incoming on the gen5...

@SDK^ Isn't it just an awesome playground! :D

And now confirmed, 100NM and 750W up from 85NM and 600W. Vendors to release firmware's from July. Cant wait for my 2 weeks of giggles before the novelty wears off

Didn't seem that big of a crash either, would expect anything that's bad enough to break the bike there would throw the rider over the bars
