Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

Thanks i didnt actually realise that stocks ISA wasn't protected. Was going to put some in the 212.

Well stocks are stocks.. You still own them as they are... Or you still own what's in your ETF...
If your stocks lose value or become worthless that's just how it is.
There's no protecting that.

It's just the uninvested cash in the s&s isa that's not got the protections that a cash ISA or normal savings account should have.

not quite true... cash in a decent platform is still protected and also separated from the companies own finances.

Hi. Any advice on what Vanguard fund to go for for this year's ISA. I currently have have 60:40 split of ESG Screened Developed World All Cap Equity Index Fund (UK) - Accumulation and VUAG. Just stick more into those, move some around or something completely new. I don't have a huge appetite for risk, hence the trackers, and I am very much just buy and leave for the next 10 years at least.

Intel has lost my preferred volatility range atm. Palantir dropped 9% today so I bought that dip instead.

Weeeee after a good week it's time to hemorrhage a few $......

Yep, same here... i wonder what effect the result of the Carney/Trump meeting today will have...

Mark Carney said last week he is going to Washington to “get the best deal for Canada,” and attempt to alleviate the “immediate trade pressures” between the two nations.
Trump attempted to downplay the meeting on Monday. “I’m not sure what he wants to see me about,” he said, before conceding: “I guess he wants to make a deal. Everybody does.”

Also:

Away from the meeting between Mark Carney and Donald Trump later, the rest of the world is also still grappling with Trump's tariffs.

The European Union plans to impose tariffs worth $113bn on US goods if trade talks with the Trump administration fail, according to Bloomberg News.

The proposed retaliatory measures will be shared with member states as early as tomorrow.

I think this is typical Trump art of the deal nonsense.
They'll come to agree a great deal, the best deal infact, and that'll hopefully be that.

Then I woke up..... Rest of the week a blood bath and back to square one for me...
