I noticed it within a week or two. Took a pic, then took another 2 weeks later and it had clearly moved. It looks like the putty is just wriggling it's way out altogether.
That's unfortunate. Glad you got sorted. I had the Aorus Master and really liked the card. I had it mounted horizontally though and didn't have any issues till I sold it to a relative for cost. He also has it mounted horizontally. I'll let him know not to change to vertical mount since he's past the return window now.
That's good. Tbh it was a pretty good sample so I may just go up to the white Zotac 5090 now in case I got an inferior 5080

Is it a straightforward process? Walk into the shop, hand over and receive a receipt, then wait a day or two for them to check it, and receive the money?
Pretty much - just sold my 3090 for 500 quid. You get an email rather than a receipt. Think i got paid the next day
It's ironic that people sell to CEX to avoid getting scammed, after selling 4 GPUs to them you've essentially lost the value of 1 GPU anyway.
When you read the horror stories of ebay, it certainly becomes a bit more appealing just to be done with it. There is only so much you can do as the seller to protect yourself. Ebay always sides with the buyer on any issue (even if entirely fictional and you have evidence to disprove it).
wait till you get scammed one day on ebay without recourse......
Gigabyte released a statement about this along the lines it should be ok and they put too much gel originally on the first batches.
Check gigabytes sub-reddit. There is a new case where the putty just completely slid out and it ended up frying the card.
Yea it was vertical. I reckon they either used the wrong putty in earlier batches or the 5090 version has slightly different layout and it isn't as easy for it to escape.
