Where are you seeing this?Doom the dark ages has weird performance on RTX5000. The 5080 is a massive 40% slower than the 4090 in this game; plus the 9070XT beats the 5080

How are people calculating that 40%? I don't see anything like that kind of gap. 40% slower would be around 40fps, not the 55.7fps shown. The 5080 is a massive 40% slower than the 4090
well thats understandable because you cant compare a 4090 to a 5080
5080 is like half the card vs the 4090
Yeah, just means no power to gpu.Just installed an Asus Prime 5070 ti and it has a red light when the computer is off or sleeping, is that normal?
I've seen this video as well, I found it hilarious how RTX 5000 cards performed almost same as previous gen, and 7900XTX/9070XT was better than a 5080.^ Hardware Unboxed has the 9070XT beating the 5080 across the rezes / quality settings
Clearly we don't know where / how TPU tested
Either way it's still funny how 5080 costs double compared to 9070XT, yet the performance doesn't reflect it. It's actually an embarassingly small gap. Going from 50 to 55FPS is such a let down for the 'extra' investment. How are people calculating that 40%? The 9070 XT is £680 vs £950 for the cheapest 5080 (give or take). Not quite double, but yes a large gap. AMD really need to hit MSRP on the 9070 XT. They've done a shocking job with making enough of them. Thank god they stockpiled loads of them due to the botched launch, otherwise it would be truly dire.Either way it's still funny how 5080 costs double compared to 9070XT, yet the performance doesn't reflect it. Hardware Unboxed are using an older revision of nvidias drivers when comparing to TechPowerUps review
It’s impressive a card priced where it is beating the 5080 in a Nvidia sponsored title (in HUBs review not Techpowerups unless upscaling is brought in to it)So funny to see 9070xt beating the 5080 because Nvidia doesn't know how to make drivers anymore, now 5000 series owners get to enjoy poor performance along with their black screens and crashes![]()
You are right the 5080s are much cheaper now, still sceptical if they are worth the extra cost for 5 FPS.The 9070 XT is £680 vs £950 for the cheapest 5080 (give or take). I doubt it will be ready, it Dark Ages gets an early release within 48 hours. It’s impressive a card priced where it is beating the 5080 in a Nvidia sponsored title (in HUBs review not Techpowerups unless upscaling is brought in to it)
I’m wondering if the public release of the game ready driver will be any better, it’s still on 576.28 atm
I would say no especially with all the driver issues and crashesYou are right the 5080s are much cheaper now, still sceptical if they are worth the extra cost for 5 FPS.
All depends if you’re only playing this one title or not… I’m not saying the card is worth a grand, it just comes down to in individual if they want it over the 5070ti or AMDs offerings. You are right the 5080s are much cheaper now, still sceptical if they are worth the extra cost for 5 FPS.
