DHL / Evri merger

I ordered something from Aliexpress last week. It made its way from China and landed in the UK on Sunday. Evri picked it up and it’s was out for delivery today, to my work address, and I got a message saying they couldn’t deliver today and will try again tomorrow.

All the way from ******* China without a hitch and then Evri pick it up.

My First Aliexpress package was with Evri, delivered it to wrong address. They insisted that it had been delivered correctly as there was proof of delivery, part of the proof was a map that had a road name clearly not the one on my address. This took 6 weeks to get this far and just gave up responding to them as suspect I was just arguing with AI, had already got refunded from Aliexpress the day after it had been incorrectly delivered as I knew had no chance of ever seeing it.

thing with Evri is it depends greatly on the 'employed courier' you have on your route - Evri do a bit of a half assed job getting it to the delivery depo (and basically no customer service) then hand it off to someone who Evri don't employ to avoid paying minimum wage (classic gig economy dodge). Surprisingly some of their courier's are actually pretty good, despite being essentially exploited...

evri here is amazing, the lady that delivers to my postcode is always on time and always good. Better than rm, ups etc.

previous postcode - same town, the driver delivering was also on point, 0 issues.

It's completely dependent on this. Our local (Glenn with ven) has been doing it 15 years and is great.

Yarp.

We had the same driver for ages and he was great, but the new driver tends to drop and run (must have worked for Amazon).
The big problem I've had with Evri repeatedly in the past is the depot's, packages go in and either don't come out or come out weeks later. On the plus side it did mean I got a fairly large M&S clothes order duplicated, as after about 2 weeks I contacted M&S who sent it out again, and when about 3 months later the original package arrived the CS agent I spoke to said to keep it (I think she said something about the system had no way to allow for it to be returned at that point).
These days I get the M&S stuff delivered to the local food all place, which is usually faster and more convenient.

Never had anything but good service from Evri. Our local driver is excellent and everything turns up bang on time. If he's not around there's another lady who does it, never had issues with her either. A couple of years back I sold a load of car parts over the course of a few weeks and sent it all out via Evri...everything arrived the next day, with no delay or problem.

When you look at the shipping confirmations and see certain couriers, you know exactly when it will arrive.
With others, you see the note and wonder when it will actually arrive.
With Evri, it's a case of wondering if it will arrive at all.

Selling something on eBay recently I was horrified to find out they had locked me into Evri as the only postage option.

Fear not however as eBay have ‘underwritten’ Evri and are happy to ‘compensate’ for each and every lost package.

They’ve only been doing it a fortnight and eBay are already in liquidation;)

Same here. I couldn't believe I could only send the parcel via Evri which I simply refused to do as they stole a PC monitor from me a few years ago. You can opt out of Evri postage in your Ebay settings - I did and now I only send via Royal Mail.

Just had a DPD next day parcel due for today get 'refused' at the depot then 'As requested, your parcel will now be delivered on Mon 14 July 2025' - as requested by who, wasn't me for sure

I've mostly had a good experience with Evri until recently.

Ordered an item middle of June and was shipped on the 17/6, since then there has been 5 attempts to deliver to the selected parcel shop (local post office, other items have had no issue being delivered there).
It's now on its way back to the sender.

I've been in contact with Evri's customer service including the executive assistant and they still have managed to mess up a simple delivery.
