I get that you love Norris, but he isn’t magic. If he can’t pass his team-mate in ancient tyres, how can he pass Max in a fast Red Bull? Did you watch this race at all?

Finally managed to catch a race live. Enjoyed it, better than usual for this circuit (I quite like the track but races aren’t always great). Drivers championship remaining interesting.

They’ve improved, but you need to dial down the McLaren fanboyism a bit.

Verstappen won at the first corner. Red Bull was rapid and had no tyre deg issues like other races this season. At no point was he losing this race even if Norris had been let through instantly.

It was a zero chance* of a race win and the only fair choice for their championship leader, simple as that really

*excluding Max DNFing, which just reinforces the idea the cars should be left to race anyway

A bit of much needed interest at the end there, but not a great race overall. 6/10 for me. Great job Max. Thoroughly earned that. Hamilton will be pleased to have got 5th after Quali, but needed a few more laps to catch Piastri.

Because Albon was eventually 'given' the place presumably but I think that's a bit of dodgy take on it that could bite them in future races, as the place wasn't really genuinely given back...

It's not a bad car but it's just not as consistently quick as the McLaren, it looks poor on some tracks and great on others, McLaren looks strong everywhere, particularly in terms of tyre deg.

I don't see many people other than hardcore Verstappen fanboys still claiming it's a dog of a car, it's just inconsistent relative to McLaren.

RBR upgrades must've helped. Typically not as good on race pace but definitely got it right this time.

Oscar made the best of a bad situation. He's levelled up from last year.

McLaren's main advantage is that they can translate their quali pace into race pace. Max is hit or miss on race pace but has a strong quali.

Merc have strong single lap but poor race pace, whereas Ferrari seem to have terrible qualifying but ok race pace.

Am I missing something albon took way too much speed was not ahead and went off track. It didn't look like leclerc forced him off...just poor driving from albon despite having much fresher tyres. Hamilton showed him how its done.

Anyway ok race in the end but all due to vsc and safety cars. I won't be Sad to see the back of imola..shame Monaco can't follow suit.

If ferrari could sort out their quali woes we would have a pretty interesting champ battle given their race pace.
