NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

Not even sure why they are bothering to try and hide the RTX 5060 performance, as long as it is £259 or less and the same speed or faster than a 4060 then it is an upgrade regardless of how terrible that is gen-over-gen.
Buying at the lower end of the market you either buy new or used, and those buying new will default to these cards, and the horrid 3050 etc.

The MSRP is 299

Has anybody had issues with games crashing and the monitor being forced into standby mode for a few seconds? It's almost like the GPU is rebooting itself. Once it boots back up whatever i'm playing has closed and with no error shown on the desktop. This is on a MSI Ventus 5090 running at stock, and i have tried multiple version of Nvidia drivers.

I did have a weird moment yesterday while internet browsing when the screen just went into standby and I had to restart. Only time it’s happened.

I've had it happen several times now, mainly during a long gaming sessions but it did also happen today after 15 minutes of gaming.

Looking at the preview content that has been released they are targeting 2060 super and 3060 owners and trying to convince them to upgrade.

Previews can only show graphs with frame gen enabled.

"Only measurements of the RTX 5060, RTX 3060, and RTX 2060 Super are permitted"

"The RTX 5060 makes a huge leap forward in terms of FPS under the aforementioned conditions, offering an average of 473 percent more frames than the RTX 3060.":cry::cry:

Nvidia is really the new Apple

I've had this a handful of times on my 5090 FE. Are you undervolting when this happens? I had assumed it is due to my undervolt crashing the game and the GPU restarting itself, as you say. It's not happened since I moved to a more conversative undervolt, but maybe that's a coincidence. I've still not gamed much on my 5090, but i'll report back if it continues.

The 4060 wasn't enough to get 3060 owners to upgrade, so why would any of those same people buy the 5060? A miserable card that's adding a couple fps to 4060 numbers.
It's amazing how they've managed to turn their 60 class cards in to excrement molded in to a PCIe add-in board.

Any tech outlet that has published an early 5060 review is not a real review outlet, they've accepted Nvidia's bribe and it brings in question the ethics of their entire operation

List of some media outlets who accepted Nvidia's bribe:

Vg247
Gamestar
Gamesradar
Game Rant
Tom's Guide
JVTech
Ascii
TechRadar
Jeuxvideo

Oof....

The problem IS Nvidia have everything, and yes Steve everything is not enough, it is never enough but when you're faced with a situation where you have so much market share that you can no longer grow that way you have to get creative to increase your revenue still further, that means less for more and convincing people its what they want.

its about time Nvidia were taken down a few notches but it may already be too late.

Nvidia botched this gen and they know it. 6th gen will correct this mistake.

Maybe.

Nvidia want you to measure the performance of the card not through its raw power, because that's what they want to skimp on, but instead through software fakery tricks, this is why they are going to such lengths to get reviewers onboard with that.

I had considered an undervolt to help bring the temps down a bit and see if that would help at all, but it isn't something I have tried yet.
