I was lucky I was able to get a refund through paypal, did take a few weeks faffing about though. Spent the money on a crystal light, dmas, all the studioforms stuff, 5090 upgrade and a few hundred change :D

If it wasn't for the community I reckon ShiftAll would go bust, or at least stick to just selling to the Japanese market

Glad you managed to get a refund... what made you go with the pimax over the BSB2?
I am tempted to get the BSB2 as I only have a RTX 4080... cant get me hands on a founders 5090. keeping an eye on the dream air with the Sony panels too... end end of this year will be interesting

I was really tempted with it, but have recently spent a lot of time with the PSVR2 and Vive Pro and got spoilt with the brightness and no glare.
Loving the crystal, especially now I can run it at native res.

It is tough knowing what to get isn't it. I'm desperate to move up from the pico neo 3 and quest 3 that I have (not at all impressed with the quest 3 for pcvr on Iracing)
just been watching your racing chanel looks a blast. Glad you're happy with the crystal it does look good.

how does the Vive Pro 2 compare to the Crystal light?

I had the Pro 1 with the OLED. Low resolution, but I had a great time with it. Very comfortable, great audio and colours. Could get passed the res with a decent amount of supersampling. My sons using it now and loves it.

There's no comparison with the crystal though, it's just so much sharper with better lenses. The entire display is clear.

I think u might have made a wise move there with the PCL and a 5090 because you are going to be able to get the max out of the PCL. I have a Super on pre-order but doubt I am going to be able to run it at high res given I have a 5080. I got the Super at only 250 more than the PCL due to being a 8KX owner, otherwise I may have opted for the PCL.
 
I Recieved my BSB2e yesterday I'm coming from a Varjo Aero but i also have a Crystal Super and a Quest 3

This thing is junk imo it's tracks terribly and if i turn my wheel on it loses all tracking and we just have permanent grey in the headset all i can really do is look at replays of sim racing without the wheel on

it does look good through the lenses and the light weight is pretty cool but it's very dark coming from the Super and the glare is real much worse than the quest 3

I've looked on forums on fixes but it all seems you have to jump through hoops to fix it I have emailed support i'll see what they have to say.....

I'm glad i have the Super it is by far more superior imo

So far the BSB is a disaster for me :eek:
 
Makes me wonder if some influencers are reviewing the same headset tbh. Quite a few reports on Reddit about people being unhappy with the BSB2, 1 person says they've received 3 all with dead pixels and BSB support saying he/she was sensitive to dead pixels insinuating they were the issue lol! And that only dead pixels within a certain area of the FOV was eligible for a refund, shocking if true.
 
Glad I held off on this one. Still sticking with my Quest Pro until something comes along that's significantly better in all ways.

Edit: Or until it breaks and I can't get it replaced.

oh dear that's not good, not at all how the reviewers and influencers are pitching it

plus there is no excuse ever for dead pixels

This is why I stopped listening to those youtubers. They talk absolute drivel. Once real customers started getting them the real story started to emerge, mainly with the glare which is one of the things the youtubers were praising!

Like the original BSB1, the reviews are a real mixed bag.

That said, the pimax dream air 4k does actually look pretty decent but I am worried about the brightness and comfort. Like I said before, it doesn't matter if it's 100g, 200g or 1kg it's how they distribute the weight across your head and face.

Still sticking with the light and will wait till customers get the air before deciding.

I do feel for you tho @ImMrChris I've been in your shoes a couple of times.

If you do decide to keep it though, the tracking can be sorted by looping the headset DP cable through three type31 ferrite cores. Let me know if you want a link.

I think the YouTubers are digging themselves into a hole that will turn so many people off from them.
I have stopped watching many of them, and only waiting for real world users to report back. I prefer to wait for a while longer rather than be burned this way.
