I have 500mb fibre optic broad band installed at the house and im looking for a decent ethernet cable that will support these speeds.

Any recommendations please

Well solid would be for doing your infrastructure, stranded is for patch cables. Nothing at all wrong with stranded.

Indeed. I read OP as "installed around the house" so assumed that was the case, but I misread

can buy whole reels of cat6 at local builder merchants that also sell screws, depends what you want, don't fall for the gimmics, I'd get a Cat 6 it's usually not far from the price of CAT5e. Shouldn't be more than £10 odd, depending on the length.

Don't be daft, he needs the power cable too in order to make it work properly.

Good few eBay sellers selling good brand name cat6a, running external ended up being cheaper for me internally, slight overkill. I only need 30m so was better than buying a drum

Just bare in mind Cat6 is thicker and less bendy.

If you're trying to discreetly install it Cat5e may be better. Also if you're buying Cat6 make sure all your accessories are Cat6 as well.
