What "man jobs" have you done today?

I have noticed a weird smell in my house for the past week or so and couldn't locate it, but today I noticed on my kitchen ceiling there is a small brown stain. So I drilled a hole in the plasterboard and put an inspection camera through and there is signs of a leak and a lovely wet rot mushroom growing :( . I really don't need the stress of sorting this at the moment, but I also don't have the money to pay for it to be sorted, so I guess I'll have to. Time to start taking up the laminate in the bedroom above...

The radiator pressure was a little low, so I suspect its from the radiator loop. If so it hopefully won't be too bad. I think its just been a very slow leak for a while, or the ceiling would have been a lot damper presumably.

That sucks. Rather than take up the laminate in the bedroom above what about tackling it from below? A ceiling repair might be easier, depending on the height of your ceiling.

Mounted the hose in it's new home. One of two garden taps were removed with recent build work and relocation of the kitchen so this was the most sensible location. Shame the feed-in hose to the body isn't on the other side. If I mounted it facing left then this would be hidden but it would potentially overhang the garage/path when in use and annoy me endlessly

That power socket under the water hose  - I take that it has a RCD/trip?

Does carrying 3x boxes of 2.4m long wooden acoustic panels count as a man job?
Managed to somehow hurt my left elbow in the process so didn't get a chance to actually install them

If you have injured yourself of course it's a man job, plus you've also delayed the job aswell;)

I dunno if it's wet enough to grow fungus, that it's gonna be just from a radiator leak :/
I ended up just taking the floor up as it wasn't far from the wall, so I didn't need to remove all the furniture etc. Glad I did as there is loads of dust on the plasterboard and where the leak is its all mouldy and looks nasty. Good news is that it was just a small pipe leak in the radiator 22mm loop.

Second bit of good news is there is no wet rot. I think I got to it just in time as there was a bit of mould growing on the damp dust laying on top of the plasterboard, but the joists are fine. I might just buy a litre of wet rot and dry rot killer just to be on the safe side. I'll take a trip to screwfix tomorrow and get a few couplers and fix the leak and then I guess just run a dehumidifier in there for a few days to hopefully dry the plasterboard out. If not it might need a new piece of board putting in and skimming.

My 15 min job today - glad I put stop valve on hot and cold just under the sink -Vasaline on threads of cartridge and it all came apart like a good en. My failure is with Imgur -had a update and messed it up so I can only get the link not the picture so this link is to Imgur. I just logged back on and got my pictures back so can do a BBC.
The hot tap handle had a sort of judder when you turned it on -Thought it might be a loose (lose) grub screw but no.

Good clean and lube then also whipped the wheels and tyres off to swap the rim tape which I'm hoping was the problem with multiple flats last time she was ou

Another good few jobs ticked off this weekend:
- replaced 2 CCTV cameras
- filled numerous holes, cracks and anything else I could find with a tube of repair mortar
- Another tip run to get rid of some rubble and garden waste
- Put some hooks up in my shed to hold my Garden canes
- Planted my sunflowers in the garden
- Planted a load of flowers into some boxes and pots around my patio

Got asked to look at the late father-in-law’s internet wiring outside. The mrs says it only needed a little chip away to allow them to replace the cable.

Looks at it. Nope. Need more than an hour to sort that out (more like a full morning/day). It’s concret/plastered in outside, with no easy access on the inside either. It’s a top notch h old builder make good. Last think I want is to break the render. And I’m assuming it’s the cable that the mother in law pointed out (there’s three identical cables through the same hacked hole.

I consider that a top notch man job done in 5 minutes.
